The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking to keep their season alive when they welcome the Houston Texans in Week 13. The odds are against them, but the Tennessee Titans showed that their divisional foes are vulnerable when they beat them last week. Can the Jags follow suit and pull off the upset? The odds are against them, but the Texans aren't doing great, having lost four of their last six games.
Currently, Jacksonville is a five-point underdog despite the fact that the game will be held at EverBank Stadium. Then again, it's riding a four-game losing streak. Add the fact that they were humiliated against the Detroit Lions in Week 11, and it's easy to see why Houston is favored to win the game.
Working in the Jags' favor is that they'll get a much-needed boost when they get Trevor Lawrence back in the starting lineup. The fourth-year quarterback has been dealing with a shoulder sprain but will suit up against the Texans. He missed two games, and during his absence, Mac Jones filled in for him with less-than-stellar results. Having said that, having Lawrence back in the fold may not be enough to tip the scale in Jacksonville's favor.
After all, they went 2-7 before Lawrence got hurt. Heck, you could even make the case that the Jaguars are better off not trusting him into action, and letting him get a procedure done on his shoulder. Matthew Schmidt of Sports Illustrated certainly believes this is the best course of action for the team, pointing out that it doesn't make sense to expose your star quarterback to further injury just to win a few more games at the expense of getting worse draft positioning.
Regardless of what the Jaguars decide to do beyond Week 13 (including the fate of Doug Pederson), here's how you can watch them play the Texans at the Bank.
