The Jacksonville Jaguars got their first win of the season when they beat the Indianapolis Colts. At least for a week, they won't have to worry about a head coach Doug Pederson's job security or a fragmented locker room. Similarly, you will be hard-pressed to find criticism of offensive coordinator Press Taylor after the team's offensive display.

Of course, players deserve lots of credit too. Just one week ago, Pederson clumsily called out for not executing, but it's fair to say that the Jags wouldn't have disposed of Indy if the team's difference-makers hadn't come through.

With that in mind, and in honor of the team's first win of the year, here are five Jaguars who stepped up. No losers this week.

Trevor Lawrence, quarterback

After spending the offseason recovering from several ailments he suffered in 2023, Trevor Lawrence was expected to bounce back and reclaim his place as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. Instead, he got off to a rough four-game stretch to start the season. While he got far from ideal protection, he didn't look like the same player who helped Jacksonville make the playoffs and win the AFC South in 2022.

Rightly, Lawrence was under heavy scrutiny but he silenced critics in Week 5 by completing 82.4 percent of his passes for 371 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Sure, he would surely like to have back the ugly pick he threw into triple coverage, but other than that, he reminded everyone just how dominant he can be.

Cam Robinson, left tackle

One of the reasons Trevor Lawrence was so efficient against the Indianapolis Colts is that he got plenty of help from the bigs up front. In previous weeks, the offensive line had trouble giving him enough time to throw. The worst offender of the bunch was arguably Cam Robinson, who gave up a total of four sacks and 13 pressures the first four games.

However, Robinson stepped up against the Colts, giving up no sacks and no pressures. He was the Jaguars' highest-graded offensive lineman in Week 5, posting a Pro Football Focus overall mark of 74.5. Credit where credit is due and on a day in which Lawrence's jersey stayed clean, the former Alabama product stood out among his peers.

Tank Bigsby, running back

Running back Tank Bigsby was unremarkable in his rookie season, averaging less than 3.0 yards per carry and actively hurting his team. But the switch flipped and he's turned things around. In fact, the Georgia native has gone on to become a key cog on offense, tallying 273 yards with two touchdowns on 34 totes.

While he was highly productive in the first four games of the season, his best outing of the season came against the Colts. In that contest, he registered his first-ever 100-yard game while running with an authoritative style that made him a mainstay of the Auburn offense during his collegiate days.

Brian Thomas Jr., wide receiver

Besides getting optimal protection upfront, Lawrence benefitted from his receivers' amazing play. On a day in which Christian Kirk and tight end Brenton Strange stepped up, Brian Thomas Jr. shined the brightest, hauling in five receptions for 122 yards with one touchdown.

The LSU Tiger also got the spotlight because he recorded the fastest running time this season during his 85-yard grab. Nobody should bat an eye if he becomes a legitimate candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year if he keeps playing at the same level.

Travon Walker, edge rusher

Even though the Jaguars had trouble slowing down Joe Flacco, Travon Walker did his job and sacked him four times. Moreover, he recorded seven total pressures, more than the Colts tallied as a team in Week 5.

The Jaguars must fine-tune their defense, especially their back seven, if they want to turn things around. After all, giving up 34 points per way isn't a sustainable way to rack up wins, but it's fair to say that Walker isn't part of the problem.
