The Jacksonville Jaguars held a mock game at EverBank Stadium just one week before the preseason opener. There were many highlights, such as Travis Hunter practicing on offense and defense on the same day for the first time. Similarly, Trevor Lawrence turned heads with his amazing play.
After spending the offseason rehabbing his shoulder, No. 16 is the healthiest he's been in a while. That's helped him build consistency and improve as training camp progressed. All the work he put in was evident in the scrimmage, where he reminded everyone just how good a quarterback he is.
But as impressive as Lawrence was, other players managed to stand out in the mock game. With that in mind, here are three winners from the ordeal.

Travon Walker, Jaguars edge rusher
All eyes are on Travon Walker ahead of the 2025 season, and not only because he's eligible. The former Georgia Bulldog is expected to break out after logging 10 sacks each of the past two seasons. In the mock game, he showed why his stock was soaring.
Michael DiRocco of ESPN had Walker registering three takedowns. Had this been a game in the regular season, his performance would be worthy of the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award.
With an improved interior defensive front, performance like this could become the norm for Walker in 2025.
Jourdan Lewis, Jaguars cornerback
When the Jaguars signed Jourdan Lewis in free agency, they raised eyebrows. This mostly stemmed from the fact that the former Michigan Wolverine mostly lined up at nickel during his stint with the Dallas Cowboys. However, he also showed that he was capable of holding his own when he played in the boundaries.
Lewis is quickly showing in Jacksonville that he can play outside on a full-time basis. Moreover, he made a diving interception in the mock game that reminded everyone why the Jags were so high on him when they brought him in.

Brian Thomas Jr., Jaguars wide receiver
Just like everyone is following Trevor Lawrence closely, analysts and fans are invested in Brian Thomas Jr. Coming off a year in which he hauled in 82 receptions for 1,282 yards with 10 touchdowns, he's poised to be even better in 2025. This is in part because No. 16 is back behind center after missing nearly half the 2024 campaign.
On top of that, the former LSU Tiger will face more favorable matchups with Dyami Brown and Travis Hunter drawing coverage away. When you add it all up, he's in a position to join Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson in the top tier of receivers in the NFL. At the mock game, Thomas showed why he deserves in, reeling in two touchdown passes.
One of the biggest storylines in the offseason has been how good the Lawrence-Thomas connection will be in 2025. While it may still be a bit of work in progress, it looked promising at the scrimmage.
