After spending the offseason recovering from a knee injury that ended his rookie season, Travis Hunter is back with the Jacksonville Jaguars for training camp. He was off to a somewhat slow start, but that was mostly due to the fact that this was the first time he's practiced since November 2025. But now that the former Heisman Trophy winner is a bit more acclimated, he made his presence felt on Day 4.
Hunter was over the field, registering an interception and reeling in a couple passes. His game-changing skills turned heads across the local media, with several beat writers calling it The Travis Hunter Day.

Travis Hunter showing infectious energy at Jaguars training camp
Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski met with the local media after Day 4 of training camp. He said that he's thrilled to have Travis Hunter back, noting that he brings an infectious energy that's spread through the team.
"The deep reception was awesome to see," Udinski told the local media. "It's great getting back out there with the guys, Udinski told the local media. He has such an infectious energy that it affects not just the receivers, probably the offensive line coaches and everybody out there. He's continuing to progress from a route, technique, fundamental standpoint, but also a knowledge of the offense and just the system in general. So it's exciting to see, and that development will hopefully continue."
Back on Day 3, Hunter told reporters that he was hyped up to be back on the field, and Udinski's remarks just confirmed it.
On a related note, Hunter has played 56 total snaps (34 on defense and 22 on offense) in four practices, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN. Like most of his peers, he heaped praise on the former Colorado Buffalo, going as far as calling it the most impressive practice of his career.

Just before Travis Hunter suffered the knee injury in 2025, he was beginning to showcase his two-way capabilities, registering a pass deflection and catching eight receptions for 101 yards with one touchdown. He's quickly picking up where he left off despite the fact that he missed the offseason program.
Then again, Hunter studied and worked out during the offseason, so you cannot truly say that he wasn't putting in the work. His preparation is now on full display in training camp. If the West Palm Beach, Florida native can build off his dominating Day 4 performance, he may be able to reach his All-Pro ceiling on defense next offseason.
Hunter should also be able to make an impact on offense, but because Jacksonville is loaded at receiver, he may not get nearly as many targets as he did last year.
Either way, Travis Hunter showed on Day 4 what he's capable of doing. Moving forward, the Jaguars shouldn't hesitate to unleash him.
