The Jacksonville Jaguars held a mock game one week before their preseason bout against the Pittsburgh Steelers. There were many highlights and several strong performances, but Travis Hunter most definitely stole the spotlight when he switched from offense to defense in practice, the first time he did so on the same day. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner followed that up with yet another impressive outing in training camp.

Mia O'Brien of ESPN shared her observations on Day 9 of training camp and said that Hunter was responsible for two highlights of the day. Here's the skinny..

"Travis Hunter with two highlights: TD over Jourdan Lewis and then on 1-on-1 Red-Zone rep vs. Lewis in which he had a double-step off LOS and then a double-move," O'Brien wrote. "Drew plenty of "oooo's" from the corwd. And yes, he did finally have a pass bounce off his hands for Dewey Wingard INT of Trevor Lawrence."

During the mock game, Hunter caught three passes on offense before switching to defense. He has had a strong training camp and has done so while practicing on both offense and defense. Along the way, he's proving that he's got the stamina to play two ways in the NFL.

Just recently, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports said that he had reservations about the former Colorado Buffalo playing two ways after the NFL Draft, but after watching him practice and talking to people in the Jaguars building, he's now convinced that he can pull it off.

Travis Hunter is coming along fine for the Jaguars

The Jaguars have done a great job of bringing Travis Hunter along. While they have had to make adjustments, their detailed plan to prepare him for the regular season has worked just fine. The team had him focus on receiver to open the offseason program. The West Palm Beach native began to get reps at corner by mandatory minicamp. He then began to switch back and forth between offense and defense in training camp.

Other than a rough day to start Organized Team Activities, Hunter's onboarding has been pretty much seamless. At this point, the only thing that could potentially prevent him from playing two ways is that the Jaguars are stacked at both receiver and corner. Then again, he's simply too talented to spend extended playing time on the sidelines. He reminded everyone of that with his latest training camp outing.
