Training camp gives overlooked players a chance to build their stock. Undrafted free agent Aydan White took advantage of his chance to make a strong impression on the first day of on-field work. While he has an uphill battle to stick around with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025, he's off to a strong start.
Garry Smith of The Florida Times-Union reports that White picked off quarterback Nick Mullens during an 11-on-11 period on Day 1 of training camp, noting that the rookie cornerback managed to stay in bounds because of his footwork.
It's worth noting that the former North Carolina State Wolfpack registered the first interception of Jaguars training camp.

White played five seasons at North Carolina, logging nine interceptions and 23 passes defensed. Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network had a Day 2 grade on him, noting that he should compete for snaps right off the bat. Surprisingly, the draft came and went, and he remained on the board. The Jags wasted no time swooping in and signing him in the aftermath.
At 5'11 and 184 pounds, size was White's major concern ahead of the draft. Fowler noted that he had a penchant for getting pushed around by physical receivers. On a related note, he earned a Third-Team All-ACC designation in 2023 and a First-Team All-ACC nod the year prior.

Aydan White has a steep hill to climb to mak the Jaguars 53-man roster
Following his encouraging outing on Day 1, Aydan White will need to build off of his strong start to training camp, and it's hard to tell whether he'll pull it off. He'll need to do so if he wants to have a shot at making the 53-man roster. As of right now, he has a steep hill to climb and is on the outside looking in.
The team's brass did a good job of replenishing the cornerback room, signing Jourdan Lewis in free agency and later drafting Travis Hunter second overall. Couple that with Tyson Campbell's return from injury and Montaric Brown's strong offseason, and it's hard to see White making the team.
As things stand, the undrafted rookie would need to beat sophomore DeAntre Prince and third-year pro Christian Braswell to earn a roster post. Of course, it could happen, but he currently looks like a candidate to land in the practice squad.
That said, you should never say never, and if Aydan White keeps making the most out of his reps in training camp, it will be hard for the Jaguars to ignore him when it's time to make roster decisions.
