Robert Saleh just went full supervillain with shocking threat after Jaguars win

Isn't it time for the NFL to take action?

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a vindicating victory over the San Francisco 49ers, one made all the sweeter considering an accusation made by 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. According to Saleh, the Jaguars were stealing signals, albeit legally, to give them an advantage.

It's something every team does, of course, but it clearly had an effect on the team - and head coach Liam Coen in particular. After defeating San Francisco, each team went back to their locker rooms, and along the way, Coen and Saleh had some words for each other. Initially, it wasn't clear what the two said, but head coach Robert Shanahan had a baffling take on the situation - namely, that Coen shouldn't be so sensitive.

"No, tried to clear it up, but I didn't see what happened, so I'm not sure," Shanahan said when asked about the altercation between the two later. "I don't think he should be that sensitive about it, but it is what it is. Not too worried about it."

But now, we know exactly what was said - and Jaguars fans will be outraged.

Should Saleh be punished for making a threat?

A different angle of the altercation surfaced, and allegedly, Coen told Saleh, "Keep my name out of your mouth. Keep my name out of your f***ing mouth!"

Saleh, who was restrained, responded, “I’ll f*** your world up. You don’t wanna f*** with me. I will f***ing end your f***ing life.” At that point, Walker Little stepped in and pushed Saleh away, telling him to "get outta here."

Unsurprisingly, there was no post-game handshake between the two.

It's enough to know that the Jaguars had the last laugh in this situation, of course, but there's also the question of what the repercussions of this will be. Sure, Coen told Saleh to keep his mouth shut, but Saleh responded with threats of physical violence. And then his head coach told the media that Coen was being too sensitive - is he insane?!

Coen had every right to be furious, and the NFL should be taking disciplinary action against Saleh and the 49ers. The Jaguars were accused of cheating; how else was Jacksonville supposed to take it? And as much as Shanahan tried to downplay it, he basically just poured gasoline onto the fire. But as Saleh had no post-game remarks, he must know just how bad this looks for him and his staff - and possibly even be trying to head off discipline - like suspension.
