Back in 2022, Trevor Lawrence showed signs of being the player the Jacksonville Jaguars expected him to be when they drafted him first overall one year prior. However, he was hampered by injuries and a less-than-ideal supporting cast the past two seasons. Fast forward to 2025, and No. 16 finds himself needing to prove himself.

Fortunately, Lawrence got the right coach in his corner to bounce back and reclaim his spot as one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the league. In fact, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report believes that the pairing gives Jags fans a big reason for optimism.

Know drew up a list of reasons for optimism for each NFL team and chose the duo of Lawrence and Liam Coen as the main one for Jacksonville, noting that the latter should help the former get back on track. Here's the skinny.

"Lawrence will also be paired with new head coach Liam Coen, who may finally get the Clemson product to play up to his potential," Knox wrote. "Coen spent last season as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator and created a dynamic offense that helped Baker Mayfield reach his second career Pro Bowl."

Earlier his his article, Knox points out that Lawrence is currently recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered in 2024 but is trending in the right direction. He believes a clean bill of health will also help No. 16 rebound.

Knox isn't wrong. Unlike his predecessor, Doug Pederson, Coen has actively worked with Lawrence to hone his mechanics and fundamentals, two areas where he struggled last year. Moreover, he'll put a renewed emphasis on running the ball, which will take pressure off the former Clemson Tiger's shoulders.

It's also worth noting that the team's brass added Dyami Brown and Travis Hunter to Lawrence's arsenal, so he'll have no shortage of weapons next offseason. Couple that with a beefed-up offensive line, and the fifth-year quarterback is in a prime position to bounce back.

Coen, for his part, is entering his first season in Jacksonville after spending the 2024 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his brief stint, he turned the Bucs into an offensive juggernaut. Like fellow quarterback Baker Mayfield, Trevor Lawrence will benefit from his tutelage.

The Jaguars will go as far as Trevor Lawrence takes them in 2025

The Jacksonville Jaguars have done a great job of helping Trevor Lawrence. With coaching or the team around him no longer being issues, though, the biggest question surrounding him is whether he can stay healthy in 2025, something he's failed to do the past two seasons.

Lawrence has dealt with a myriad of ailments that have prevented him from building consistency. Granted, there's an element of randomness to injuries, but availability is the best ability on game day. It won't matter that the Knoxville, Tennessee native has a competent coach and a well-rounded supporting cast if he can't stay healthy.

The good news is that Lawrence is trending toward being 100 percent ahead of the regular season, and if he manages to avoid the injury bug, nothing is impeding him from playing a the top-10 level he's shown he's capable of achieving... again.
