What channel is the Jaguars-Texans game on today? Start time, announcers, and more
The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to salvage their season after an 0-3 start. Next on their schedule is the divisional foe Houston Texans. Winning wouldn't suddenly fix all the issues the Jags are facing but it would be certainly a positive step in the right direction. That said, coming out on top won't be a walk in the park.
Currently, Jacksonville is a 6.0-point underdog and the game will be held at NRG Stadium, so the Texans will have an edge. Compounding the issue is that injuries are starting to pile up for the Jaguars. Not long after the news broke that linebacker Foyesade Oluokun will land on the Injured Reserve while he deals with plantar fasciitis, the team announced that cornerback Darnell Savage will miss the bout.
This is noteworthy because head coach Doug Pederson told the media that he felt good about Savage's chances of playing in the divisional bout even though he's recovering from a quad injury. Unfortunately, he'll join tight end Evan Engram, who's also been ruled out, on the sidelines.
On the other hand, the weather won't be a factor during the game, so the Jags will be able to unleash their wide arsenal of weapons. Trevor Lawrence has been far from great, but if he can put his past struggles behind him, he should be able to go toe-to-toe with C.J. Stroud and the Houston offense.
By now, you may be wondering how you can watch the game today. Here's how you can do it.
Jaguars-Texans TV Channel:
The bout will be shown on CBS (WJAX). If you're outside the Jacksonville market, you can stream it on NFL+. The advantage of using the service is that you can watch replays and have access to the NFL Network. You need a subscription, though, with plans starting at $14.99 a month.
fuboTV is another alternative. You can watch the game on your computer, tablet, or cellphone without having to install any extra equipment. All you need to get started is an internet connection. Click here for your free seven-day trial.
Jaguars-Texans announcers:
Andrew Catalon will be the play-by-play announcer while Jason McCourtney and Tiki Barber offer live analysis. AJ Ross will handle sideline duty.
If you'd rather listen to the broadcast, Frank Frangie, Jeff Lageman, and Tony Boselli will provide analysis from the booth while Bucky Brooks reports from the sidelines.
Jaguars-Texans recent outcomes:
The Jags last beat the Texans in Week 12 of the 2023 season. They would proceed to lose five of their next six games. In fact, Jacksonville is 1-8 since then, so it's fair to say that they're in dire need of a win.
Houston leads the all-time series 29-15 and has won eight of their last eight encounters, making this a one-sided rivalry. The good news is that if the Jaguars win, they'll be only one game behind the Texans in the division standings and will have a tiebreaker in case they make a playoff push.
