Last year, Trevor Lawrence took a pounding behind a shaky offensive line so nobody should be surprised that he's added muscle to better withstand the beating. Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars game against the Miami Dolphins, No. 16 met with the local media and fans quickly noticed that he looked considerably jacked.

Lawrence was talking about the challenges the Miami defense will present and FinsXtra uploaded the clip on Twitter. Right off the bat, it had fans talking about the quarterback's physique.

That was just one example. User @AidenLavalle said "Trevor Lawrence looking huge," while @_cpay noted, "This gives a whole new meaning to The Lawrence Arms." There were other similar comments.

Lawrence, the first overall pick in the 2021 draft, was sacked 35 times last year. Furthermore, he was pressured at the highest rate in the NFL in throws of 2.5-4 seconds.

Lawrence's protection was so bad in 2023 that he dealt with a myriad of injuries in the back half. He got pummeled so badly that he fully recovered until this past March.

Realizing they needed to better protect their franchise quarterback, the team's brass beefed up the offensive line in the offseason. The biggest addition was veteran Mitch Morse, who'll replace 2022 third-round pick Luke Fortner at center.

Last year, Fortner ranked 31st among centers in pass-block win rate while his veteran counterpart was 14th, so there should be a noticeable improvement up front. Going back to Lawrence, he expects the Dolphins' defense to provide a tough test because they'll face a first-time defensive coordinator in Anthony Weaver.

"It's challenging. Early games in the season are always a little though, especially when there's a new defensive coordinator. Try to piece it all together, some preseason stuff, some Baltimore stuff. All those things, you gotta take your educated guesses on what you're going to see. Gotta prepare for everything."

Lawrence continued, "It will be a big game where you adjust as you go. You see what they're doing. Everyone has a game plan. Once we go in there and figure what theirs is, it's on us to make the adjustments and try to execute what we think is the best plays against whatever they're doing."

The Jaguars may not face Jalen Ramsey when they play the Dolphins

Working in the Jaguars' favor is that cornerback Jalen Ramsey may not suit up for the game. He's dealing with a hamstring injury and has missed two consecutive practices. If he doesn't play, the Jacksonville offense will have a favorable matchup.

As it is, Jacksonville won't have to deal with pass rusher Bradley Chubb because he'll start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Similarly, outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips is coming off an Achilles injury and will be on a snap count for the season opener.

That said, the Jaguars cannot underestimate the Dolphins defense. As Lawrence noted, they don't know what to expect from Anthony Weaver and his unit.

In the end, the Jaguars need to be ready to roll regardless of who suits up for the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. Trevor Lawrence certainly spent the whole offseason preparing. You can see the results in his muscular appearance.
