This TV host keeps the Jaguars in the exact same spot on his rankings
The Jacksonville Jaguars are firmly one of the best teams in the NFL. There are plenty of people who will disregard them because of their history but that is outdated. It is time for people to see this franchise for what it truly is which is a winner.
They have some quality wins and are 6-2 through 8 games. They won the AFC South in 2022 so doing it again in 2023 would make it two in a row. At that point, you have to just realize that they are here to stay for a while.
Anything can happen going forward but the offense and defense have both been outstanding this year which is a big reason why the Jaguars are where they are. If it continues as it has in the first half of the season, they are a legit threat to win the Super Bowl.
One media personality who seems to always give the Jaguars their props when it is deserved is Colin Cowherd of FS1. When people were still doubting the Jags coming into the year, he was there to tell everyone how great this team was going to be. He was right.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are starting to climb on all of the ranking lists.
Last week, he ranked them at number five on his top-ten list. This week, he kept them in the exact same spot which is actually very interesting. He wouldn't move them up after they had a big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers who he had in last week's top ten as well. That's interesting, especially considering this is their fifth straight win.
The teams he had ahead of the Jaguars were the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens. Although they should be higher now, all of those teams are incredible with superstar quarterbacks so it is splitting hairs right now.
At this point, the Jaguars have to keep winning to climb the list over teams like that. They are on a bye this week so it will be interesting to see how being idle affects their rankings next week.
Following that, the San Francisco 49ers are the next team on the schedule. Beating a squad like that, despite them being on a three-game losing streak, would certainly get the Jaguars even more respect.
At the end of the day, it is just nice to see the Jaguars in this spot. There was a lot of pain to reach this point. When the playoffs begin, they should have the Super Bowl on their mind. Right now, they should absolutely be focused on the number one seed. That will move them up the rankings on everyone's list.
