This fact about the Jaguars' schedule will certainly help them
After a big win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, the Jacksonville Jaguars are now 5-2. They held them off in what became a very good game to start the new week. At this point, the Jaguars have to be seen as one of the best in the NFL right now.
They have a very good defense supported by an offense with stars at every position. That includes quarterback, as Trevor Lawrence is going to be their franchise guy for the next decade or more. It is truly a great time to be a fan of this team.
This Jaguars team is playing a first-place schedule because of the fact that they won the AFC South last season despite starting 2-6. That means teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals are or were on the slate.
They lost to Kansas City but they made Buffalo one of their two victims in London (they also beat the Atlanta Falcons over the pond). Anyone would sign up for a 1-1 record against those two teams in a season that has mild Super Bowl aspirations.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the best teams in the NFL right now.
Now, there is a schedule advantage that they are getting at the perfect time. They just played Thursday Night Football which means that this weekend is like a mini-bye. Then, they play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8 in Pittsburgh.
Following that is their bye week in Week 9 before playing the San Francisco 49ers at home in Week 10. That means that they have one game over their next 22 days which is really nice for a good team in the middle of the season.
Trevor Lawrence was questionable coming into the game against the Saints but he ended up playing through his knee injury. Now, he only has one game over the next few weeks which will really help him heal up for the stretch run. The same applies to any other Jaguars player dealing with something.
The fact that they are 5-2 makes this fact even better because there is something worth taking advantage of here. If they were 2-5 with no shot of making the playoffs, this wouldn't be all that good of news. We can only hope that good things continue to come for this team.
