The Jacksonville Jaguars came into Thursday Night Football with some questions. For one, Trevor Lawrence was injured and questionable for the start. Early in the day, however, we learned that he was likely to play in the contest.

They took on the New Orleans Saints at the Super Dome which is always going to be tough. The Saints came in 3-3 with question marks as well but that franchise always plays very hard. Well, the Jaguars ignored all of the noise and came in with a game plan.

Trevor Lawrence was clearly not 100 percent but he is elite enough to win games even when something is bothering him. That was the case in this 31-24 win for Jacksonville. They can feel very good now that they are 5-2.

This was not an easy win for Jacksonville. They had a big lead early but they let the Saints come all the way back and tie the game. Eventually, Lawrence hit Christian Kirk for a long touchdown pass and run. At that point, the Jaguars took the lead for good.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a lot of great performances in their win.

The defense was very good in this game. They didn't allow a touchdown until the fourth quarter. They started to bend a little bit in that fourth quarter but they didn't break. They made the big stop when it mattered most.

Lawrence ended the game going 20/29 for 204 yards and the one touchdown pass to Kirk. He didn't throw a single interception. He was noticeably quicker to throw the football and that helped him play in this game that he might have been ailing a little bit.

He also shockingly led the team in rushing yards. He had 59 on eight carries. It was a very good game for him by the time it was all said and done. This kid is the real deal and a big reason they are a first-place team.

Another great performance in the game came from Travis Etienne. It is fair to say that he is one of the best running backs in the NFL at this point. He didn't have more rushing yards than the quarterback but he did lead the team with 14 carries. He had 53 yards.

Where he shines is in scoring touchdowns. Add another two to his season total in this big win. As long as he is running the rock like this, the pressure will be taken off of Lawrence. He is truly incredible to see play all the time.

This is now four straight wins for the Jaguars after starting the season 1-2. They now have some time off before their next game with this one coming on Thursday Night Football. They need to keep their foot on the gas as they could be in the mix for the number one seed by the end of the year.
