Jaguars Draft: 3 Georgia players to consider trading up to select
The Jacksonville Jaguars currently hold the 24th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. That is a lot different from selecting first overall which is what they did in each of the last two seasons.
It was a great Jaguars team in 2022 that made the playoffs and won a playoff game. Now, it is time to take the next step.
With this 24th pick, the Jaguars can take a lot of different players that could help their team win even more games in 2023.
The Georgia Bulldogs won the National Championship and are sending some really good players to the NFL. If the Jaguars want to make their selection one of these guys, they won't be ripped on for it. These are three Georgia players to trade up for in the first round:
1. Jalen Carter - DL
Jalen Carter is someone that lots of teams would consider drafting.
Jalen Carter obviously takes some off-the-field baggage with him into the 2023 NFL Draft. Every team should be trying to figure out what happened with that.
If they feel that his character isn't an issue, which is up for everyone to decide on their own, he is a great player that will be drafted in the first round.
The Jaguars would certainly have to move up to draft him if they really wanted to get him. He also might have to slip a little bit in order for him to be available at a spot that the Jaguars are capable of moving up to.
If the Jaguars added a guy like Jalen Carter, they certainly wouldn't have the 24th ranked defense in 2023. We know they are going to score some points so adding to the defense might go a long way in seeing this team take a big step.
