Someone chose violence.

With the first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson. It wasn't a surprise at all. Everyone knew that Lawrence would be the first pick in the 2021 draft and while things haven't been perfect, the NFL on CBS Twitter account chose violence when posting Lawrence's stats.

The account posted a side-by-side comparison of Lawrence's first 50 starts and Daniel Jones' first 50 starts. While the two have posted similar lines, comparing Lawrence to Jones feels unnecessary.

This hasn't been the first time that Lawrence and Jones have been compared on social media. Black & Teal's own Carlos Sanchez wrote about the comparison when it originally reared its ugly head and phrased it perfectly.

"Whoever came up with the original post achieved his objective, get the conversation started. However, you will be hard-pressed to find an NFL executive who would pick Jones over Lawrence. Similarly, analysts routinely have pointed out that the Steezy Trev is the reason the Jaguars have managed to win games this season and not in spite of him. "

Trevor Lawrence is a much better QB than Daniel Jones

As Carlos touched on, the Jaguars would be a much worse team without Lawrence leading the pack. The Giants didn't have Jones for most of the 2023 season and won five games without him. Tommy DeVito even became one of the stars of their team while Jones was out.

Injuries have been another major factor that set Lawrence and Jones apart, as Lawrence has missed just one game since entering the league in 2021. Jones, on the other hand, has missed a slew of games since joining the Giants in 2019, including 11 games in 2023.

Yes, Jags fans have a right to be disappointed with Lawrence but at the end of the day, no one would pick to have Daniel Jones as their signal-caller over the Jags quarterback.
