No. 2 toughest defense on the Jacksonville Jaguars schedule: Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen has turned the Bills into a perennial contender but it's easy to forget that they were good even before they drafted him in 2018. One year before, when Sean McDermott became the head coach, Buffalo went 9-7 and made the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback.

While Allen got the Bills over the hump and is a big reason they've made the playoffs in four straight years and appeared in the AFC Championship in 2020, their defense has also done its part. In fact, the Bills have ranked first or second in points allowed in three of the last four seasons.

By not giving up lots of points, the Bills don't often have to ask Allen to overcome a deficit, which is why their offense has also been successful. Last season, Buffalo raised eyebrows when they gave Von Miller a top-market contract but the investment paid off, as he went on to register eight sacks.

While there's a chance Miller will miss the beginning of the 2023 season while he recovers from an ACL injury, Gregory Rousseau, Ed Oliver, and A.J. Epenesa will pick up the slack during his absence. Similarly, the Bills' secondary should be in good shape with Tre'Davious White, Micah Hyde, and Jordan Poyer, who could've walked in free agency but returned.

Working in the Jags' favor is that they'll play the Bills at London instead of Highmark Stadium, which should take away their home-field advantage.
