Rumors had been floating around that the Jacksonville Jaguars could play two games in London in 2023. Now it's official. One day before the NFL releases the 17-game schedule, it's been announced that the Jags will indeed play twice in London.

Although the league will release the 17-game schedule on Thursday, the International games and the first-ever NFL matchup o Black Friday would be announced Wednesday. The first of the Jaguars' games in London (Week 4) will be as the home team against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium on October 1.

The Jags will then face off against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as visitors on October 8, meaning they'll play back-to-back games across the pond. Here are the rest of the games in the NFL's International Series in 2023:

  • Baltimore Ravens vs. Tennessee Titans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, October 15 (Week 6)
  • Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs at Frankfurt Stadium, November 5 (Week 9)
  • Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots at Frankfurt Stadium, November 12, (Week 10)

A matchup involving the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles on Christmas Day (Thursday Night Football) has also been announced. Here's a picture of the Jaguars taking on the Bills the team's social media team posted on Twitter.

The Jacksonville Jaguars has the chance to go 2-0 in London

The Jags are no strangers to playing in London, having made the trip every year since 2013, with the exception of 2020, when no International games were played due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Falcons also have made a pair of appearances across the pond, first in 2014 and later in 2021. On the other hand, this will be the Bills' second International game ever. In the first one, they also faced off against Jacksonville, losing 34-31.

Atlanta went 7-10 last season and has a projected win total of eight games in 2022. They drafted running back Bijan Robinson this year. The former Texans Longhorn should take lots of pressure off quarterback Desmond Ridder's shoulders but it remains to be seen if the Falcons will be able to keep up in a shootout next season.

Meanwhile, Buffalo has made four straight playoff appearances and reached the AFC Championship in 2020. With Josh Allen leading the way, the Bills could be a tough matchup for the Jaguars. But working in their favor is that the game will be held in a "neutral site" instead of Highmark Stadium.

It's also worth noting that this will be the third NFL game held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jacksonville appeared in the second one back in 2021. They beat the Miami Dolphins thanks to a last-minute kick by Matthew Wright. It the first win of the Jags that year.

The Jaguars are basically a home team in London, making the yearly trip. In previous seasons, they weren't very good. This time though, they're poised to be one of the top clubs in the league, so London fans will be treated to a pair of pretty good football games.
