The Jacksonville Jaguars came into the season with more expectations than they have ever had. After how last year went and the off-season additions that were made, this could be a big year.

In week one, they were matched up with the Indianapolis Colts. With a rookie under center for them, it is interesting to think about their upcoming season as well.

Despite some tough moments earlier in the game, the Jaguars pulled it together in the 4th quarter and got the win. There is always a little bit of rust and coming together in the first game of the year. Winning those types of games is very necessary.

They took it with the final score of 31-21. They are now 1-0 to start the 2023 season and are already in sole possession of first place in the AFC South.

It was all made possible because of a great game by these players. These three, in particular, stand out above the rest:

1. Trevor Lawrence

The Jacksonville Jaguars are lucky to have Trevor Lawrence under center.

Trevor Lawrence is him. If there was any doubt after his amazing end to the 2023 season, there isn’t anymore. He showed that he is actually elite in this game.

Lawrence went 24/32 with two touchdown passes and a pick. He made a few throws in there that show he has the ability to do some amazing things.

There are certain completions made where Lawrence made a perfect toss. When the receiver is the only one that can catch the ball, you know it was great.

Lawrence should be in the mix with for the MVP of the league by the end of the season. There is no doubt that he is looking like one of those guys.

When you think of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen, Lawrence will start to come up. This game was a great example of him taking over and leading the way. The next 16 games should be incredibly fun to watch with him under center.
