NFL analysts are starting to warm up to the idea that the Jacksonville Jaguars may be pretty good, and understandably so. They went 13-3 in 2025, have a top-10 quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, and Liam Coen has overseen a cultural shift. Next, the Jags have a golden opportunity to prove that they aren't a fluke when they face off against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs.
Originally a 1.5-point underdog, Jacksonville is now the favorite for the playoff game, per DraftKings Sportsbook. Having a kicker that can nail field goals from 65 yards out certainly helps. Also, having a relatively clean bill will be huge. If that wasn't enough, the weather conditions could end up getting the Jags over the hump.
The weather will allow the Jaguars to fire on all cylinders vs. the Bills
NFL Weather expects a temperature of 64 degrees Fahrenheit and a 12 percent chance of precipitation, so it likely won't rain. Couple that with the fact that there will be winds of 10 MPH, and the Jaguars will enjoy perfect weather conditions.
Granted, Buffalo will benefit from the same weather, so Josh Allen will have no trouble slinging the pigskin. That said, the Jags, with Trevor Lawrence at the helm, will have the opportunity to unleash hell on the Bills.

Trevor Lawrence and Cam Little should benefit from the weather vs. the Bills
Trevor Lawrence rode a hot streak to end the season, completing 63.0 percent of his throws for 1,600 yards with 15 touchdowns and just one interception. Heck, his December heroics just got him the AFC Player of the Month award. Sure, Allen has been the more consistent of the two, but No. 16 has shown he can elevate his game when the stakes are the highest.
Moreover, Lawrence has the better supporting cast. If Buffalo zeroes in on either Brian Thomas Jr. or Jakobi Meyers, he can simply look for either tight end Brenton Strange or the reliable Parker Washington.
Meanwhile, Allen's best skill position player is tight end Dalton Kincaid, and while Jacksonville cannot overlook the Bills receiver corps, its personnel has a favorable matchup.
Of course, the biggest beneficiary of the weather is without a doubt Cam Little. He's the only kicker in NFL history to nail field goals of 65+ yards, and both of them took place in the same season. Some critics wanted to put an asterisk in his 68-yard record breaker because it was indoors. However, the former Arkansas Razorback showed in Week 18 that he can do it outdoors when he nailed a 67-yard attempt at Nissan Stadium. And like Lawrence, he took the AFC Player of the Month award home.
On a game that could come down to the wire, Cam Little most definitely gives the Jaguars an edge, and with perfect weather, don't be shocked if he attempts another field goal from 60 yards out.
