Parker Washington has earned a label that sets him up for a pivotal 2026 with Jaguars

After a breakout season in 2025, Jacksonville Jaguars veteran receiver Parker Washington will have even more pressure in 2026.

The 2025 season ended up being a surprisingly good one for the Jacksonville Jaguars, winning 13 games and the AFC South, and coming within a play of winning a Wild Card game. One of the reasons why Jacksonville had the success that it did is that veteran receiver Parker Washington had a breakout season.

In his third season with the team, Washington took a significant leap, catching 58 passes for 847 yards and five touchdowns. The wideout also had seven receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars’ playoff game. Because of those numbers, Washington recently found himself on a list by Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, naming the most underpaid player on each team.

As Gagnon highlighted, Washington is entering the fourth year of his rookie contract, but a rookie deal for a sixth-rounder is just four years, $4 million. For Jacksonville, Washington will only have a $3.7 million cap hit — incredible value for the team’s leading receiver.

"Washington's cap hit will rise by nearly 300 percent in 2026, and yet he'll still count just $3.7 million against the cap in the final year of a four-year, $4.0 million rookie contract. Not bad considering that he put up 847 yards and five touchdowns in a breakout 2025 season. The 23-year-old is carrying a ton of momentum into 2026."

While that’s a steal for the Jaguars, this emphasizes the importance of 2026 for Parker Washington. Unless Jacksonville extends him this offseason, 2026 will be a contract year for the veteran wideout. If he can follow last season up with an even better year, he will set himself up to make a lot of money. Washington will be a long way from underpaid then.

Jacksonville will certainly give Washington the opportunity to prove his worth next season. While the wide receiver room has quickly become a deep group for the Jaguars, the franchise will enter the offseason program prioritizing Washington as one of the team’s top weapons. If he can pick up where he left off, a nice contract should be in his future.
