The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the NFL, riding a six-game winning streak after trouncing the Denver Broncos in Week 16. Moreover, their offense is seventh in the league in points scored, while their defense ranks 10th in points surrendered. You would think that would be enough to warrant plenty of Pro Bowl consideration, but that's not the case. Not even close.
In spite of their success in Year 1 of the Liam Coen era, the Jags had only one of their players make the 2026 Pro Bowl: Ross Matiscik. And while there's nothing wrong with their long-snapper getting the nod, you could make the case that other Jacksonville players were equally deserving of the award. An NFL voice emphatically agrees.
Devin Lloyd and Josh Hines-Allen deserved to represent the Jaguars in the Pro Bowl
Kevin Patra of NFL Media put together a list of 2026 Pro Bowl snubs. He included linebacker Devin Lloyd and edge rusher Josh Hines-Allen, noting that both warranted consideration because of the role they've played on their team's late-season surge. Here's the skinny.
"I'll pick out two defenders who were snubbed for Pro Bowl consideration, Josh Hines-Allen, and Devin Lloyd," Patra wrote. "Hines-Allen has been a best off the edge and doesn't garner nearly enough attention. JHA ranks fourth in the NFL in QB pressures (71) and fifth in quick pressures (27). The edge rusher wins despite little surrounding help -- is the only other Jaguar player with more than 26 total pressures."
Patra continued, "Lloyd has enjoyed his best season, making plays at every level. The fourth-year pro has been excellent in coverage, generating five interceptions, tied for second-most in the league, with one returned for a 99-yard score. He's made 70 tackles in 13 games."
Apart from Hines-Allen and Lloyd, Patra also included defensive back Jalen Pitre (Houston Texans), offensive guard Kevin Dotson (Los Angeles Rams), quarterback Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers), and defensive tackle Derrick Brown (Carolina Panthers), among others, on his list of snubs.

Devin Lloyd and Josh Hines-Allen had compelling cases to make the Pro Bowl
Kevin Patra makes valid points when discussing the Devin Lloyd and Josh Hines-Allen snubs. After all, both of them have bounced back after an unremarkable 2024 and have gone on to become pivotal pieces on Anthony Campanile's defense.
And that's the thing, Campanile deserves plenty of credit for turning around the Jacksonville defense, but he wouldn't have pulled it off if he hadn't had the right players. Lloyd, for his part, had always had the talent, but it wasn't until 2025 that he put it all together. The former Utah Ute wasn't necessarily bad in past years, but he wasn't a game-changer either. On top of that, he struggled in coverage. That's no longer the case under Campanile's tutelage.
On the other hand, Hines-Allen got off to a slow start to the season but has been unstoppable since the BYE. While his seven sacks don't pop off the stat sheet, his 82 pressures rank third among all pass rushers in the NFL. Simply, No. 41 deserved to get the nod.
The issue with Hines-Allen getting a nod was who do you leave out? Fellow pass rushers Myles Garrett, Maxx Crosby, and Will Anderson have been better than him, so you kind of understand why he was snubbed. On the other hand, Lloyd most definitely deserved a designation over Roquan Smith and Azeez Al-Shaair.
Ultimately, it won't matter that the Jaguars only had one player make the 2026 Pro Bowl. What's done is done, and they can show everyone they were deserving of more selections by winning games. If they do it, it will be hard for everyone to keep ignoring them.
