The Jacksonville Jaguars went 13-4 in 2025, but a handful of analysts are still not convinced that they're a legit contender. That could change with a win over the Buffalo Bills in Round 1 of the playoffs.
The Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL, and their quarterback Josh Allen is among the top 3 in the NFL. Not surprisingly, they're favored to win the game despite the fact that Jacksonville is the higher seed, and the game will be held at EverBank Stadium.
That said, Buffalo is flawed, and a prominent NFL analyst just revealed two weaknesses that could give the Jags a massive edge.
Greg Cosell says the Bills have 2 flaws the Jaguars can exploit
Greg Cosell made an appearance on the Ross Tucker Show and said that the Bills will have two glaring flaws that could have an impact on the outcome of the game. Here's the skinny.
"This is a great example of where weakness becomes an issue, because the Bills have two significant concerns. Number one, they struggle to stop the run," Cosell told host Ross Tucker. "And we'll get to Trevor Lawrence in a second, because he's playing great football, and I think there's a couple of reasons why. But number one, the Jags can run the football, and they run it well, and the Bills have struggled in that area for a good part of the season."
Cosell continued, "And number two, the reality is that the Bills do not have any way to win one-on-one matchups in their pass game, so everything must be highly schemed, or else it's oh, let's hope Josh makes plays."
For context, Buffalo ranks 28th in rushing yards allowed and 31st in rushing touchdowns allowed. Meanwhile, the Jags have the best rush defense in the league. Keep in mind that Cosell is far from the first one to point this out, with Mina Kimes of ESPN having previously discussed it.
On the other hand, Jacksonville isn't nearly as effective at toting the rock, but Travis Etienne and Bhayshul Tuten must definitely give them a dynamic backfield tandem.
Regarding the Bills' inability to win one-on-ones, Cosell is right. Tight end Dalton Kincaid is their best skill position player, but aside from him, they don't truly have a game-changer. Sure, Khalil Shakir is a fine receiver, but Jacksonville has the personnel to contain him.

The Jaguars can go toe-to-toe with Josh Allen and the Bills in the playoffs
The truth is that the Bills made the playoffs for a reason, and as long as they have Josh Allen, they'll have a shot. Just last year, they crushed the Jaguars in the regular season. Of course, the outcome from that year doesn't have a bearing on the upcoming one, but it's a reminder that Jacksonville has a tough matchup ahead.
Then again, the Jags enter the matchup with plenty of things going in their favor. Aside from excelling at stopping the run, their defense has a penchant for creating turnovers, while their offense is firing on all cylinders ahead of the playoffs, with Trevor Lawrence playing the best football of his NFL career.
Unlike his Bills counterpart, Lawrence has no shortage of weapons. Couple that with the fact that Cam Little can make a field goal from 60 yards out, and the Jaguars have the firepower to repel Buffalo.
Ultimately, the Bills are a talented team, one that can go all the way, but the Jaguars should feel good about their chances going into the game.
