The Jacksonville Jaguars may not take a cornerback with the No. 5 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after signing Jourdan Lewis in free agency. However, they should still bolster the position in later rounds. The issue is that one prospect they could be setting their sights on may not be available once they're in the clock again.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that cornerback Shavon Revel will visit the Buffalo Bills, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Minnesota Vikings as part of his draft tour.
In a follow-up tweet, Pelissero adds that Dr. Daniel Cooper will clear Revel for all strength and conditioning activities in the offseason. In case you were wondering, Cooper is the head physician for the Dallas Cowboys.
Revel’s surgeon, Dr. Daniel Cooper, told teams in a recent letter: “After the NFL draft, he will be cleared for all strength and conditioning activities in the off-season program including strength training, powerlifting, and position-specific running and cutting.”

Revel is recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in practice last year. So far, he's made positive strides. Not long ago, Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network posted a clip of the former East Carolina Pirate running at 21 mph on the treadmill. Of course, he still has a long way to go to be in football shape, but it's an encouraging step in the right direction.
Rehab is coming along nicely for ECU CB Shavon Revel Jr, following ACL reconstruction on Oct. 15th.

Unrated out of high school, Revel has the ideal size and length for the position. Before suffering the ACL injury, he routinely showed the straight-line and recovery speed to keep up with opposing receivers.
Revel's biggest con is probably his less-than-ideal ball skills and inability to create turnovers. Nevertheless, he's projected to go late in the first round or early in the second. Below's a tidbit of Bleacher Report's scouting report on him.
"Shavon Revel projects as an early-round pick with the potential to make an immediate impact as an outside cornerback. His length, speed, and physicality are ideal traits for defending big-bodied receivers on the outside and handling vertical routes. While his ball skills and eye discipline could limit his ability to generate turnovers, Revel's ability to blanket receivers and disrupt plays at the line makes him a valuable asset. With further refinement, he has the ceiling to develop into a high-level starting cornerback at the next level."
That most definitely sounds like a player taking a flyer on.

The Jaguars will have alternatives to Shavon Revel in the 2025 NFL Draft
Signing Jourdan Lewis in free agency gives the Jacksonville Jaguars lots of flexibility. They no longer have to draft for need at No. 5 and can wait until Rounds 2 or 3 to take a cornerback. Having said that, they shouldn't pass up the chance to select one at No. 36 if there's an intriguing one still on the board.
Shavon Rebel may or may not make it to the second round. The fact that the Indianapolis Colts, who hold the No. 15 pick, are hosting him could be a sign that he could go in the top 32. Having said that, the Jags will have options if Revel is gone. Just recently, Jordan Reid of ESPN suggested they target Nohl Williams, who should be available when they're on the clock at No. 36.
Of course, it's not a given that the Jaguars will take a cornerback in Round 2. They could also beef up the offensive or defensive line, bolster the wide receiver corps, or even add a running back. It all depends on how the first round plays out. Having said that, taking a cornerback with pick No. 36 shouldn't be ruled out.
Granted, the Jaguars already have Lewis, Tyson Campbell, and ascending sophomore Jarrian Jones. However, they should never pass up the chance to add playmakers, and there's no doubt that Revel fits the bill. Unfortunately, he could be gone when it's their turn to pick.
