The Jacksonville Jaguars are no strangers to playing NFL games outside of the United States, having played in London 13 times dating back to 2013 when the league began the International Series. Just last year, they faced off against the Los Angeles Rams. But despite racking up plenty of traveler's miles, the Jags have yet to play in South America. That could change in 2026.

The NFL began to play games in Brazil in 2024, and on the same day as the NFL Honors, the news broke that the Dallas Cowboys would play their season opener in Brazil. Not long after, it was reported that it would count as an NFL game for them. Coincidentally, they're set to play the Jaguars at home next season.

The Jaguars could be the Cowboys opponent in Brazil in Week 1

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Dallas will be playing in Brazil in Week 1 of the 2026 season. Not long after, colleague Todd Archer added that the Boys would be giving up a home game, noting that the Jags, the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers, the Tennessee Titans, and the Baltimore Ravens are among their potential opponents.

If the Jaguars end up getting the nod, it would mark the first time they play an international game that isn't held in London. So far, they've played 10 at Wembley Stadium and three at Tottenham Hotspur.

Last year, Jacksonville reached an agreement to play up to six games in London from 2025 to 2027. While that sounds like too much, EverBank Stadium will be undergoing remodelations the next couple of years, and the Jaguars will need to play at a temporary venue, so they won't be truly giving up many home games.

Speaking of, the Jags settled on Camping World Stadium in Orlando as their temporary home in 2027.

The Jaguars could play as many as 3 international games in 2026

Although the Jaguars only played one game in London last year, they've played as many as two in 2023 and 2024. Nobody would bat an eye if they got two (one as the home team, one as the visitor in London) next season. But aside from their games across the pond, they could also be picked to play the Cowboys in Brazil. If that's the case, they could play as many as three international games in 2026. It may be a long shot, but it shouldn't be ruled out either.

After all, players aren't fans of international games — even if NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says they do — and can't you blame them? The jet lag, having to travel for hours, and everything that comes with playing in another country. That said, the league is making an aggressive effort to expand its international reach, having already announced games in France, Mexico, and Australia for 2026.

At this point, it looks like every NFL team will get to play at least one international game each season, and the Jaguars could get the unique distinction of playing three in 2026.
