The Jacksonville Jaguars got a chance to get healthier during their BYE. However, they might not be at full strength when they face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9.

Most of the players who appeared on the initial injury report should be able to suit up on Game Day. However, the Jags just added a player who hadn't previously made an appearance: Two-way star Travis Hunter.

The Jaguars listed Travis Hunter as limited in the latest injury report

One of the biggest surprises on Thursday's report was Travis Hunter. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner was listed with a knee injury. The good news is that he got a limited designation. Barring a setback, he could still play against the Raiders.

On the other hand, the rest of the players the team listed Wednesday didn't have their status changed. Eric Murray didn't participate for the second consecutive day, while wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder), wide receiver Dyami Brown (shoulder), linebacker Dennis Gardeck (chest), tight end Quintin Morris (groin), wide receiver Tim Patrick (groin), linebacker Devin Lloyd (calf), and cornerback Jourdan Lewis (neck) earned the limited designation.

Hunter went off against the Rams in Week 7, hauling in eight receptions for 101 yards with one touchdown. The prior six games, he had tallied 20 receptions for 197 yards. On defense, though, he's held his own, giving up just nine receptions for 108 yards with no touchdowns on 18 targets.

Following the BYE, Coen said that the team wanted to put more on Travis Hunter's plate, so his potential absence would bring the plan to a halt.

Travis Hunter would leave a massive hole with the Jaguars if he isn't good to go

If either Jourdan Lewis or Travis Hunter can't go, sophomore Jarrian Jones could get extended playing time in Week 9. The sophomore cornerback would have a chance to boost his stock after struggling early in the season.

On the other hand, if Travis Hunter misses time, the Jaguars could be thin at cornerback for the Las Vegas game. Tim Patrick already missed the Los Angeles Rams bout, and if he is unavailable once again, the Jaguars will probably promote Tim Jones via standard elevation.

Jones, an undrafted free agent in 2021, spent his rookie season in the Jaguars' practice squad and went on to make the 53-man roster each of the following three years. The former Southern Miss Golden Eagle bolted for the Minnesota Vikings in free agency but was released before the regular season. He was then signed to the Jacksonville practice squad.

As of this writing, there's still plenty of time before the Raiders game, and Travis Hunter could ultimately be good to go. But if he isn't, the Jaguars will need to lean on a handful of players to replace him.
