In the aftermath of the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Liam Coen said that Brian Thomas Jr. was dealing with a wrist injury, but there was nothing to worry about. The fact that he was a full participant in practice Wednesday seemed to confirm the first-year coach's comments. However, this is a fluid situation, and the Jacksonville Jaguars proved it with their latest injury report.

The Jags posted their injury report for Thursday, and Thomas earned a limited designation due to his wrist injury. This came just a couple days after Coen said it wasn't something serious, but it will be worth monitoring moving forward.

Ezra Cleveland and Jarrian Jones join Brian Thomas Jr. on the Jaguars injury report

As of this writing, it's hard to tell if Brian Thomas Jr. will suit up against the Houston Texans in Week 3. Liam Coen will most likely offer clarity in his last media availability session before the bout.

But aside from sophomore wideout, cornerback Jarrian Jones, tight end Hunter Long, offensive lineman Wyatt Milum, and rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten had a limited status.

Ezra Cleveland, for his part, sat out practice for the second straight day and is trending toward not playing against the Texans. On the other hand, Long is back, albeit on a limited basis, after missing Wednesday's practice.

If Cleveland isn't good to go, the Jaguars could roll with Chuma Edoga at left guard, or switch Patrick Mekari from the right side to the left.

The Jaguars injury report also comes with a positive Montaric Brown update

Ideally, Jarrian Jones will be a full-go for the Week 3 matchup, but the Jaguars have a couple of players who can step in his place if he's not available. Travis Hunter saw an uptick in playing time against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he could get the starting nod against the Houston Texans.

Another option is Montaric Brown. The fourth-year veteran was having a good enough training camp that there was chatter about him potential starting. However, a leg injury brougth things to an abrupt halt.

The silver lining is that the injury wasn't nearly as serious, with Liam Coen expressing confidence in Brown returning at some point in the season. True to his word, the fourth-year corner is closer to making his regular-season debut in 2025.

A seventh-round pick in the 2023 draft, Brown appears to be a good fit in Anthony Campanile's scheme, so Jones' injury could pave the way for Brown to have a featured role right off the bat.

Jones has struggled the past two games. He has logged 71 defensive snaps, most of them in the boundaries. Given that Jourdan Lewis is firmly entrenched in the slot, the Jags may want to plug Brown opposite Tyson Campbell.

The fact that he's been a full participant in back-to-back days will allow the Jaguars to do just that.
