Just recently, Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead revealed that he had been targeting Jourdan Lewis for years. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars swooped in and signed the veteran cornerback in 2025's free agency. On Day 10 of training camp, he reminded everyone why he was so highly coveted when he hit the open market.
Mia O'Brien of ESPN reports that Lewis jumped on a route in front of wide receiver Parker Washington to make a diving interception on Day 10. Here's the skinny.
"Jourdan Lewis second, highlight reel INT of Camp was easily the "Play of the Day," O'Brien wrote. "Jumped and in front of Parker Washington in diving fashing (of Lawrence). Coen, other coaches I've spoken with continue to stress what a "pro's pro" Lewis has been for the entire Defense."
As O'Brien noted, this was Lewis' second head-turning interception of training camp. Back in the mock game, he picked off Nick Mullens.
With Tyson Campbell slated to start at one cornerback spot outside, Lewis could either take the other spot in the boundaries or man the slot. Jarrian Jones and rookie Travis Hunter are also vying for featured roles next season.

Liam Coen is impressed with Jourdan Lewis' impact with the Jaguars
Back when the Jags signed Jourdan Lewis to a three-year deal worth $30 million, they raised eyes because he had mostly lined up at nickel during his stint with the Dallas Cowboys. However, the former Michigan Wolverine thrived whenever he played in the boundaries. The team's brass found that kind of flexibility appealing and strongly believes that he will thrive if he gets extended playing time outside.
Following Lewis' impressive outing on Day 10 of training camp, Liam Coen told the local media that he's been pleased with him, pointing out that he's had a positive influence on and off the field.
"As you guys see, it's every day something, right? It's every day, he's making a play," Coen responded when asked what Lewis brings to the defense (1:18 mark). "And there's only so much right within a scheme that you can teach and coach."
Coen continued, "Ultimately, they have to go out and make plays, and he just continues to be a steady, consistent professional that communicates at a high level. He brings a calmness to our back end. He brings a play maker to our back end, and a great leader for the guys to be able to continue to listen to back there."
Later in the exchange, Coen said Lewis has been everything the Jaguars bargained for and then some.
"You guys have seen how many diving either past breakups or interceptions he's had. I had so much respect for him coming. When we played them in Tampa this year, he made a unbelievable interception that basically sealed the game in their favor. And he's just come here — from the moment we sat down and talked to my office, from till till now — it's been exactly what he has said he wanted to do, and what we actually and what we also wanted from him, from a veteran leader, professional, show some of these guys the way. And he's taken that role on and ran with it," Coen said.
Although the Jaguars have yet to announce where Jourdan Lewis will play next season, it's fair to say that he'll be in a position to make an impact regardless of where he lines up.
