The Jacksonville Jaguars hired Urban Meyer in 2021 because they thought he could turn them into a perennial contender. However, that's not how things played out. Under the embattled head coach, the Jags dealt with several controversial moments that quickly showed he wasn't qualified to run an NFL team.
And in case you wanted a refresher, Meyer didn't know which players Jacksonville was facing, or he would berate his assistants and question their credentials. His most infamous moment with the Jaguars, though, might've been when he was caught on camera dancing improperly with a woman who wasn't his wife Shelley after ditching a flight home.
Simply put, the Meyer hire was an utter and total disaster, but there's one incident that isn't discussed nearly enough, and a recent skirmish brougth back flashbacks.
Jauan Jennings' brawl brought back memories of his scuffle with Jaguars S Rayshawn Jenkins
The San Francisco 49ers played the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football. The game went as planned until wide receiver Jauan Jennings and safety Tre'Von Moehrig got into a fight.

It looks like the altercation started because Moehrig first hit Jennings below the waist. 49ers head coach, for his part, didn't sound overly concerned. In fact, he stood up for the fifth-year receiver, pointing out that Moehrig had taken a cheap shot.

“The guy took a cheap shot and hit him in the balls. I was real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there.” https://t.co/RjoL9asYWA pic.twitter.com/y1pZtnhAxQ
In the end, the scuffle overshadowed a solid outing from Jennings in which he hauled in five receptions for 41 yards with a touchdown. This isn't the first time the 2020 seventh-round selection gets into a fight during a football game, though.

Jauan Jennings also got into a scuffle with former Jaguars S Rayshawn Jenkins
Back in 2020, Jauan Jennings got into a skirmish when the Jaguars played San Francisco. That time, it was with safety Rayshawn Jenkins. Things got heated, and the former Jaguar got ejected after throwing a punch.
Following the embarrassing loss, Jenkins acknowledged that he lost his cool, which raised concerns when you take into account that he had been selected team captain by his teammates that year and, as such, was supposed to lead by example.
Jenkins signed a five-year deal worth $35 million with the Jags in 2021 and was released after 2023. In his three seasons in Duval, he logged five interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 24 passes defensed.
Circling back to Jauan Jennings, it's not uncommon for players to get into fights, but that he's been part of two is a bit weird. Then again, Jenkins was the one who threw the punch. Similarly, you could make the case that he was justified in getting back at Moehrig after the cheap shot.
In the end, football is a very intense sport where tempers flare, which is why it isn't shocking to see players lose their cool every now and then. They're human after all, and in the heat of the moment, they may have a bit of trouble thinking about future fines or hurting their team.
