Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence just caught a stray from the last person you expected

A missed TD throw sparked criticism, but no one expected this kind of friendly fire

The Jacksonville Jaguars walked away with a win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12, but it was by no means flawless. They made a lot of mistakes along the way, but proved their resilience and grit are still there, letting them win even under the worst circumstances.

Yet while some Jags players stood out, others... definitely did not. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a roller-coaster of a game, and wide receiver Tim Patrick didn't have his best game. Together, the two ended up having one of the most frustrating plays during the game.

On third-and-4 in the fourth quarter, Lawrence stepped back to throw, saw Patrick wide open on the sideline, and pulled the trigger. Had Patrick caught it, it would have been a sure first down and likely a touchdown, too. Yet Patrick wasn't even looking in Lawrence's direction.

That failed play got a lot of heat, and understandably so. The two clearly were not on the same page, which is never a good sign for the offense, and while Cam Little managed to bring home the win in overtime with a field goal, it could have easily gone the other way... and one person is putting all the blame on Lawrence.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence got roasted for a missed throw... and it came from inside the house

Tim Patrick's sister — under the username Taryl Faith — reacted to the play live on social media. And she put the blame solely on Lawrence, tweeting out an insult to the Jaguars quarterback, even though her brother wasn't exactly paying attention, either. She quickly deleted the tweet, but as everyone knows, the internet is forever.

It's not much of a surprise that she deleted the tweet, either; Jaguars fans were seriously not having it and rushed to defend their quarterback. Many of them pointed out that Patrick himself has hardly been an All-Pro receiver, and that she doesn't have much room to criticize Lawrence for that play.

For what it's worth, head coach Liam Coen seemed to put most of the blame on Patrick... not Lawrence. "It was a clear out on the play," Coen said (2:00 mark). "We said, 'Hey, if we get man, we can alert that.' And they just so happen to bust it from a coverage standpoint. He is wide open; he popped wide open. But Tim's more thinking, 'I'm here to kind of clear this thing out,' and I think that's just a great learning op...You can get your eyes back on a go, especially when the void kind of happened."

You've got to imagine that Patrick himself wasn't thrilled with his sister's tweet, and that he might have told her to take it down. No one would look at that and think highly of him and less of Lawrence; instead, it just made her look immature and idiotic. But maybe while she's offering advice on how to play football, she could try reminding her brother to turn around and look for the ball next time.
