There are many reasons the Jacksonville Jaguars went 3-14 in 2024 but their special teams play wasn't one of them. In fact, the unit was one of their strenghts, and two of their players, long-snapper Ross Matiscik and punter Logan Cooke, made the 2025 Pro Bowl games. Following the conclusion of the regular season, both of them continue to rack up accolades. This time, they earned an All-Pro nod from the NFL Player's Association, the players' union.

The NFLPA released their third annual All-Pro list, and both Cooke and Matiscik made the cut. It's important that this is different from the Associated Press list.

For the NFLPA's All-Pro teams, players voted for their peers, and they made it clear that Cooke and Matiscik were the best at their respective positions. On a related note, this is the second time the Jaguars punter long-snapper makes the cut.

Last year, Cooke and Matiscik made the 2025 Pro Bowl. It was Cooke's first selection and Matiscik's second one. He and pass-rusher Josh Hines-Allen got the nod for the Jags for the 2024 edition.

While kicker Cam Little didn't make the Pro Bowl or earn an All-Pro designation like Matiscik or Cooke, he became a key contributor on special teams. The former Arkansas Razorback brought stability at the position in 2024, going 27-of-27 in his attempts and nailing five of six field goals from 50 yards out.

It's also important to point out that while the Jaguars' offense and defense were among the worst in the NFL in most meaningful categories, their special teams unit was among the top 10 last year, at least according to FNT Fantasy. On a related note, below is a clip of Little standing in front of the team to announce that Cooke and Matiscik were selected for the 2025 Pro Bowl games. Make sure to watch the whole thing. It's worth it.

Jaguars special teams coach Heath Farwell deserves credit for Ross Matiscik and Logan Cooke

There's no doubt that the Jacksonville Jaguars have a trio of keepers in Ross Matiscik, Logan Cooke, and Cam Little. That said, special teams coach Heath Farwell's work with them shouldn't be overlooked.

After all, the Jags have had one of the best special teams units since they hired Farwell in 2022. Heck, his amazing work goes beyond the kicking trio of Matiscik, Cooke, and Little. Jamal Agnew was a Pro Bowl alternate during his first season at the helm while Daniel Thomas and Andrew Wingard have become key cogs in the unit.

Sophomore Parker Washington also showed impressive returns skills both in the preseason and regular season. Farwell deserves credit for the strides the former Penn State Nittany Lion made in 2024.

Currently, the Jaguars are looking for a new head coach, and whoever replaces Doug Pederson should strongly consider keeping Farwell. After all, why fix something that wasn't broken? Matiscik and Cooke are proof that whatever he's doing is working.
