The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't had a perfect season, but they have been a consistent threat and are near locks to make the playoffs. Yet despite that, the Jags are still one of the most underrated teams in the league, often being ranked below teams they've beaten by analysts.
But now, the Jaguars may finally be getting some level of respect. After completely annihilating the Tennessee Titans, they are on top of the AFC South, and their dominance is paying off in the power rankings.
Previously in the season, the Jaguars would be ranked lower than teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, for example, who Jacksonville had not only beaten, but had a better record than. But that trend is slowly changing.
Jaguars are finally getting the respect they deserve in NFL Power Rankings
Heading into Week 14, the Jaguars are rising in the power rankings, even cracking the top 10 for some analysts. It's a long-overdue acknowledgement of what fans already knew: Jacksonville is a legitimate contender who can't keep being overlooked.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Jaguars at No. 8 (+5)
Like most analysts, Prisco seemed shocked that the Jaguars are surging this late in the season. "They lead the AFC South," he wrote. "Who saw that coming? They have a big one this week with the Colts."
As for who saw that coming, the answer would be, literally, everyone who has been paying attention. Jacksonville has been just behind the Colts all season, yet is constantly underestimated. At least Prisco is finally putting them in the top 10, where they belong.
Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk: Jaguars at No. 9 (+2)
Like Prisco, Florio acknowledged that Jacksonville's success is not slowing down anytime soon. Though also like Prisco, Florio seems concerned about the upcoming Indianapolis game, even though it will be played at home, and the Colts are collapsing a little bit more each week. "They’re quietly surging, with the biggest game yet coming this weekend against the Colts," he wrote.
Mike DiRocco, ESPN: Jaguars at No. 13 (+1)
Of course, not everyone can have some semblance of common sense. DiRocco does have the Jaguars rising this week, but they're also ranked behind both the Texans and the Colts, despite being on top of the AFC South, ahead of both teams. Make it make sense!
At the end of the day, Jaguars fans are used to their team being somewhat of a laughingstock in the league. No matter how well Jacksonville plays, no one ever seems to take them seriously. But if anything, that tendency to underestimate them could work in the Jaguars' favor. And if they bring home another win in Week 14, Jacksonville might finally become undeniable.
