When the Jacksonville Jaguars hired Liam Coen as the head coach, they did it with Trevor Lawrence's development in mind. The former Clemson Tiger has shown that he's capable of playing at a high level but has struggled to do it on a consistent basis. Coen is expected to change that. Just recently, offensive coordinator Grant Udinski talked at length about how the team is trying to optimize the processes around the fifth-year quarterback to get the most out of him.

Udinski made an appearance on the NFL Spotlight with Ari Meirov and said that the Jags are doing as much as they can to help Lawrence, noting that they're trying to build an enviroment where he can succeed.

"Yeah, I think it comes down to our processes and trying to refine those and stick to those, and if we can create the right processes for Trevor, and perhaps more importantly, or equally as important, the right processes around him, I think those will drive the results, and those will speak for themselves," Udinski responded when host Ari Meirov asked what the Jags are doing to help Lawrence. "So ultimately, it's just focusing on trying to refine those processes, trying to make sure that we're being supportive in as many ways as possible, and making sure that he has the pieces he needs to be successful.

Udinski continued, "We're providing whether it's the information, the opportunities, the practice reps, whatever it is, to create that environment for success and the circumstances for success, and then just doing it on a day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute basis, will really ultimately determine that final."

Hiring Udinski is one of the most overlooked moves the Jags made in the offseason, but he played a huge role in Sam Darnold's career revival and had a positive influence in the Minnesota Vikings' quarterback room. He, along with Coen, is expected to have a similar impact on Lawrence.

The Jaguars have done their best to unlock Trevor Lawrence's potential

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made it a priority to put Trevor Lawrence in a position to succeed after the past regime routinely failed to do so. The team's brass beefed up the offensive line and made upgrades to his arsenal of weapons in the offseason. However, the biggest change may be in the coaching No. 16 gets.

While Doug Pederson helped Lawrence improve significantly in 2022, he eventually decided not to take an active role in his development, delegating the task to right-hand man Press Taylor. His performance then suffered a noticeable dip. Liam Coen is expected to buck the trend. So far, he's been working one-on-one with his quarterback to hone his footwork and fundamentals.

When you add it all up, Lawrence has everything he needs to become the player the Jacksonville Jaguars expected when they drafted him first overall in 2021. Now, he needs to live up to his end of the bargain. To do so, he'll need to avoid the injury bug, something his failed to do the past two years.

If he manages to stay healthy, though, nothing is impeding Lawrence from rejoining the top-10 quarterback conversation tayland helping the Jaguars make a playoff push.
