The Jacksonville Jaguars will tentatively get Trevor Lawrence back for their matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 13. The fourth-year quarterback is pushing to play, and head coach Doug Pederson told reporters Friday that he anticipates him to suit up despite the fact that he's listed as questionable in the final injury report.

If he plays as expected, Lawrence should give the offense a boost. During his two-week absence, the Jags managed to score a measly 13 points. Then again, having the former Clemson back in the lineup won't guarantee a win over the flailing Texans.

The Jags are currently a 5-point underdog even though they'll be the home team. This is understandable when you take into account that they're riding a four-game losing streak and were humiliated against the Detroit Lions one week before their Bye.

Working in their favor is that Houston isn't doing so great themselves, having lost four of their last six games. C.J. Stroud, in particular, has seemingly regressed after being the talk of the NFL as a rookie. It will be a great opportunity for a struggling Jacksonville secondary to step up.

Another thing the Jags have going for them is that they'll be as healthy as they can be at this point of the season. Defensive end Josh Hines-Allen, running back Tank Bigsby, and cornerback Tyson Campbell popped up on the injury report for Week 13, but all three are good to go.

In fact, sophomore Yasir Abdullah is the only player on the Jacksonville sideline who has been ruled out for the game. Lawrence himself got the questionable designation for the game, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media says the former Clemson Tiger is adamant that he'll suit up.

Lawrence's injury is on his non-throwing shoulder, but he'll have to deal with pain throughout the game. This could ultimately hinder his performance. Interestingly, the Jaguars have kept three quarterbacks on the active roster.

The front office signed C.J. Beathard in early November and he's remained on the roster ever since even though Lawrence is back in the fold.

On a non-related note, the team signed veteran Tyler Shatley to their practice squad ahead of Week 13, adding insurance to their interior offensive line.

One day before the game, Jacksonville also announced that sophomore wide receiver Elijah Cooks was promoted to the active roster via standard elevation.

This move makes sense when you consider that wide receivers Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis are out for the season, so the Jaguars are lacking depth at the position.
