The Jacksonville Jaguars will attempt to pull off an upset when they face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7. It won't be easy. They're currently a three-point favorite but most definitely have a few things going in their favor. The biggest one may be that they're as healthy as they can be at this point of the regular season.
Granted, tight end Brenton Strange is on injury reserve after suffering a hip injury, and linebacker Devin Lloyd didn't make the trip as he recovers from a calf injury he suffered in the loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Having said that, Jacksonville got positive news in the latest injury report.
Center Robert Hainsey sustained a hamstring injury in Week 5 and missed the Seahawks game. However, he was a full participant in prior days and didn't get a designation against the Rams. Similarly, Travon Walker had no restrictions, aside from wearing a cast, while he deals with a wrist injury.
Had Hainsey not been good to go, rookie Jonah Monheim would've made the start at center, and while he more than held his own in the loss to Seattle, his veteran counterpart brings things beyond his play (leadership and toughness, among other things).
On the other hand, the Jaguars are surely thrilled that Walker is trending in the right direction. After all, their pass rush has struggled to bring the heat in past games. Things got so bad that defensive end Josh Hines-Allen failed to record a pressure in Week 7 for the first time since 2022.
Ultimately, the Jaguars have enough talent and a promising head coach to go toe-to-toe with the Jags. And just before the game, they elevated linebacker Branson Combs to the active roster via standard elevation. He probably won't suit up but Jacksonville needed depth at the position in light of Lloyd's absence.
On the Rams sideline, wide receiver Puka Nacua has been ruled out for the London game, so the Jacksonville secondary will get a massive break. That said, the secondary cannot afford to take Davante Adams and Jordan Whittington lightly. Both of them could give the Jaguars trouble if they're unaccounted for. Then again, the cornerback trio of Jourdan Lewis, Greg Newsome, and Travis Hunter should be able to hold their own.
And with that in mind, here's the list of Jaguars inactives for the London game.
