With Liam Coen taking over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence was expected to take a leap. However, he's been inconsistent throughout the season. That's why his performance in the 25-3 win over the Tennessee Titans stood out.
Lawrence played his best game under Coen thus far, completing 59.3 percent of his throws for 229 yards with two touchdowns. Granted, it was against the Titans, but that shouldn't take anything away from the progress the fifth-year quarterback displayed.

Rightly, Coen said in the aftermath of the win that he was overall pleased with Lawrence's performance.
Jaguars HC Liam Coen heaps praise on Trevor Lawrence after the win vs. the Titans
Liam Coen met with the press corps after the win over the Titans. He praised Trevor Lawrence's performance, noting that he played well in spite of injuries across the offensive line.
"Yeah, I thought he played pretty well," Coen told reporters Sunday (0:36 mark). "He was under some duress. We had some injuries up front, obviously, but I thought early on, especially that he was accurate with seeing the field well, made some good throws for us, scrambled a few more times, but I do think that he played well. "
Similary, Michael DiRocco turned to Twitter to point out that Lawrence had his best outing of the year against the Titans, arguing that it was overshadowed because of other things that took place during the game.
For the season, Lawrence has completed 59.7 percent of his throws for 2,636 yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

The Jaguars will need Trevor Lawrence to keep playing at that level the rest of the way
It wasn't long ago that Aiditi Kinkhabwala of CBS Sports suggested that Trevor Lawrence wasn't able to put it all together because Liam Coen's scheme is the most complex he's been in his career. This makes sense, and if that's the case, his performance against the Titans is a positive sign.
It's also worth noting that Lawrence played well against the Cardinals in spite of the turnovers, so maybe he's indeed making strides. That said, there's plenty of work left. At 8-4, the Jags have taken control of the top spot in the AFC South, but five games remain on the schedule. They'll need No. 16 to keep improving if they want to guarantee that they make it to the postseason.
Working in Lawrence's favor is that Jacksonville's upcoming slate of opponents is manageable. He'll face the Tennessee Titans, the New York Jets, the Indianapolis Colts (twice), and the Denver Broncos. Of the bunch, Denver may be the toughest.
Moreover, Indy is crumbling, and Daniel Jones is playing hurt. If that wasn't enough, cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle DeForest Bucker won't suit up in Week 13, so Lawrence will have a great chance to build off the Titans game.
The bottom line is that the Jaguars have already shown that they can win games. Imagine how good they can be if Trevor Lawrence takes his game to the next level down the stretch.
