The Jacksonville Jaguars are a 7.5-point favorite for their Week 8 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. When you factor in that their dreaded division foe is holding a fire sale, the Jags have a legitimate chance to extend their 12-game winning streak against Indy. However, head coach Liam Coen isn't taking his opponent lightly.

Coen is aware that the Bank gives Jacksonville home-field advantage. That said, he also knows that winning in the NFL isn't guaranteed, and an underdog can come out of nowhere to win.

The Jaguars aren't thinking about the 11-game winning streak vs. the Colts

Liam Coen met with the local media the Wednesday ahead of the Indianapolis games. He acknowledged that the Jaguars have home-field advantage at EverBank Stadium but hasn't discussed the winning streak, noting that a team can rise at any moment.

"Yeah, I think it's one of those ones in the NFL. I mean, right? It's always nice to have a home field advantage. I believe we have that. It's not an easy place to come in and play. I don't think, so we play well at home, for sure, and so that's something that you can lean into," Coen told reporters (11:12 mark). But we haven't necessarily talked about any streak or anything like that, knowing that it's say it's the NFL any given Sunday, and it can happen anywhere."

The Colts last won at EverBank back in 2014. Andrew Luck was the quarterback then. However, they've lost 11 straight. That's how dominant the Jags have been. Heck, they beat Indy in the 2020 opener, and that was their only win of the season.

On the other hand, Coen knows this could be a trap game if Jacksonville takes the Colts lightly, so expect the Jaguars to dominate.

Why the Jaguars can beat the Colts in Week 8

The Jaguars are dealing with injuries. They placed left ackle Anton Harrison on the Injury Reserve list after he tore his ACL. However, Walker Little proved to be a more than capable replacement, so he should have no trouble holding the fort the remainder of the year. On the other hand, Jacksonville could be without cornerback Montaric Brown and Antonio Johnson in Week 8.

Keep in mind that the Jags will have a short week since they'll face the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football just four days after playing Indianapolis. If Brown and Johnson aren't 100 percent, they may be available until Week 9. But despite the injuries, Jacksonville has a favorable chance of beating the Colts.

Trevor Lawrence remains one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, and his arsenal of weapons is the best he's had in his career, with Parker Washington spearheading the way. The defense ranks third in points allowed despite giving up 34 points in the loss to the Houston Texans. Anthony Campanile's unit should have no trouble stymying Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis offense.

The bottom line is that the Jaguars can't start celebrating yet but should feel good about their chances of extending their winning streak against the Colts to 12.
