The Jacksonville Jaguars were an 8.5-point road favorite against the Baltimore Ravens ahead of their Thursday Night showdown. These odds felt right at the time because the Jags had just crushed the hapless Indianapolis Colts, while Baltimore had lost Lamar Jackson and backup quarterback Tyler Huntley for the season. In the end, though, it turned out to be a vastly conservative projection.

Jacksonville ended up dominating, scoring more than 30 points for the third game in a row. The defense made sure that 2026 undrafted free agent Joe Fagnano remembered his first NFL start for the wrong reasons, while the offense managed to put points on the scoreboard without much trouble.

If that wasn't enough, the win confirmed that the 2026 Jaguars are in a class of their own.

The Jaguars lead the NFL in point differential after the win vs. the Ravens

Sheil Kapadia of The Athletic noted on Twitter that the Jags have the NFL's best point differential (+108) since the start of last season, adding that they're now 19-6 with Liam Coen at the helm. Michael David Smith added that the team with the second-best point differential is the San Francisco 49ers at +58, a wide gap of 50 points.

NFL Researcher also wrote that Jacksonville has the most wins by 20+ points this season, with four. No other team has more than three. If that wasn't enough, the Jags lead the league with eight wins by 20+ points since 2025. The Seattle Seahawks are second with six.

You could make the case that the Jags benefit from having to face bad teams, but that argument would be flawed. For starters, they don't have control over what teams they face but are taking care of business regardless. Moreover, the alternative would be that teams like Baltimore or the Colts gave them fits. It isn't the case.

Now, Jacksonville is 6-2 and in position to make a playoff push. That said, there's plently of work left.

The Jaguars still have room for improvement even after beating the Ravens

Head coach Liam Coen had a media availability session after the win over Baltimore. He stated that he was pleased with his team's performance, noting that it's the most prepared he's seen them in a short week.

Yeah, I was extremely proud of their process throughout the week. I told the guys one of the better, best short weeks I've been a part of in terms of their preparation, their detail," Coen told reporters in the aftermath of the win. "We didn't have like a ton of MA, guys looking lost tonight. You just had a lot of guys just business like doing their job, had some individual performances of guys making plays, but I was extremely proud of their process throughout the week, which led us to this point."

But as good as the Jags were, Liam Coen acknowledged there's room for improvement, noting that they didn't always end things offensively.

"We had the one fumble, probably wanted to throw it more than we than we did, but it was also pouring rain. You got a 20-point lead at the point at that time, you're just trying to get some first downs and keep things moving. What I was frustrated with was just not ending things on our terms at times offensively, having to put the defense back out on the field a few times. Where if we would have got more first downs, you're gonna end the game on your terms," Coen said.

That might've been why Coen didn't pull Lawrence from the game like other times this season despite the fact that Jacksonville was 33-3. But in the end, he's right.

The Jags got off to a strong start, scoring 20 points in the first half. However, they took their foot off the pedal a bit in the second half. Similarly, the defense gave up a 65-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. The game was already decided by them, so it didn't ultimately hurt.

Either way, the Jaguars took care of business on Thursday Night and won. They'll now get a long weekend to rest ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the rival Tennessee Titans.
