In an effort to ramp up competition, the Jacksonville Jaguars chose to hold mandatory minicamp before the last portion of Organized Team Activities. Several players took advantage of the setup while a few others failed to make an impression.
The good news is that the Jags still have a few OTA practices left before they take a break, so everyone will get another opportunity to boost their stock. This will also give the team's brass one more chance to assess the roster.
With this in mind, here's a 53-man projection with the last portion of OTAs underway.
Jaguars 53-man roster projection before the last portion of OTAs: Offense (23 players)
Jaguars quarterbacks (2): Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens
Unlike last year, Trevor Lawrence won't enter the regular season facing questions about his future in Duval. Instead, he's looking to build off of his impressive 2025 campaign. So far, he's done everything he can in the offseason program. On the other hand, Nick Mullens, Carter Bradley, and Joey Aguilar have been a bit inconsistent. Still, don't expect the Jaguars to add another quarterback any time soon.
While Bradley could be QB2 in 2027, he probably won't make the 53-man roster and will instead land in the practice squad for the second year in a row because Jacksonville will only carry two signal-callers into the season: Lawrence and Mullens.
Jaguars running backs (4): Chris Rodriguez, Bhayshul Tuten, LeQuint Allen Jr., J'Mari Taylor
J'Mari Taylor has made the most of his chances in the offseason program and is trending toward making the 53-man roster over DeeJay Dallas and Ameer Abdullah. But even if he makes the cut, he probably won't get much playing time, with Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez expected to be the top options in the backfield.
LeQuint Allen Jr. should also get an uptick in playing time, so Taylor would likely be relegated to special teams if he ends up getting the nod.
Jaguars receivers (5): Jakobi Meyers, Josh Cameron, CJ Williams, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington
It could be a tad too early to crown them, but Josh Cameron and CJ Williams have done enough to warrant consideration for a roster spot. They probably won't get many targets their way as rookies but will provide valuable depth behind Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., and Parker Washington.
On a related note, Liam Coen made it clear that Jacksonville will spread the ball next season, but Brian Thomas Jr. has done enough during the offseason program to make you believe that he could once again lead the team in receptions after a step drop-off last year.
Jaguars tight ends (3): Brenton Strange, Tanner Koziol, Nate Boerkricher
This shouldn't be news, but Nate Borkircher and Tanner Koziol have made a good impression throughout the offseason program. This is noteworthy because the Jags caught heat for double dipping at tight end in the NFL Draft even though they had bigger roster needs.
Sure, Boerkircher was held out for precautionary reasons in mandatory minicamp, but it won't be a concern unless he isn't back for the start of training camp. On the other hand, Quinton Morris didn't do much of note, so he could be at risk of getting the boot if he doesn't stand out.
Jaguars offensive linemen (9): Anton Harrison, Patrick Mekari, Robert Hainsey, Jonah Monheim, Emmanuel Pregnon, Wyatt Milum, Ezra Cleveland, Walker Little, Cole Van Lanen
The Jaguars brought back all of their starting offensive linemen from 2025. However, some of them could face competition to keep their jobs. Specifically, offensive guards Patrick Mekari and Ezra Cleveland may need to fend off rookie Emmanuel Pregnon and sophomore Wyatt Milum.
Walker Little could also start come Week 1 if Cole Van Lanen isn't fully recovered from a knee injury he suffered late in 2025. At this point, the only hog molly from last year who could be on the outside looking is Chuma Edoga.
Jaguars 53-man roster projection before the last portion of OTAs: Defense (27 players)
Jaguars pass rushers (6): Travon Walker, Josh Hines-Allen, Danny Striggow, Wesley Williams, Zach Durfee, B.J. Green II
The Jaguars have an unproven yet talented group of young pass rushers behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker. Danny Striggow, Zach Durfee, B.J. Green II, and Wesley Williams have a shot at making the teams and could end up getting snaps next season. That said, one of them needs to separate himself from the role and seize the No. 3 job in the rotation.
Jaguars defensive tackles (5): Albert Regis, Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Ruke Orhorhoro, Matt Dickerson
Defensive tackle could turn out to be Jacksonville's biggest question mark next season, but the Jaguars expect the addition of Ruke Orhorhoro and rookie Albert Regis to provide a boost.
Matt Dickerson proved to be a solid rotational piece last year. Unless the Jaguars add reinforcements to the interior defensive line, he could return to Duval for a second season.
Jaguars linebackers (6): Branson Combs, Jalen McLeod, Ventrell Miller, Foyesade Oluokun, Dennis Gardeck, Jack Kiser
Even after Devin Lloyd's departure, linebacker appears to be a strength for the Jaguars. Ventrell Miller is set to start next to Foyesade Oluokun, but sophomore Branson Combs is lurking behind. Miller will have to look over his shoulder if he doesn't want to tumble down the depth chart.
Jaguars cornerbacks (5): Jarrian Jones, Montaric Brown, Jabbar Muhammad, Travis Hunter, Jourdan Lewis
The Jaguars have a well-rounded group of cornerbacks. Montaric Brown will tentatively start opposite Travis Hunter in the boundaries. Jourdan Lewis and Jarrian Jones are better suited for nickel duty but could also play outside if needed.
Jabbar Muhammed is making a strong case for the fifth roster spot at cornerback, but perhaps undrafted rookie Preston Hodge could sneak in.
Jaguars safeties (5): Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, Caleb Ransaw, Jalen Huskey, Rayuan Lane III
Last year, safety appeared to be the weakest link for Jacksonville, but it turned out to be a strength. Eric Murray thrived in his first season with the Jags, while Antonio Johnson had a breakout season. Both of them are back.
Behind Murray and Johnson, Caleb Ransaw, Jalen Huskey, and Rayuan Lane III will compete for playing time next season.
Jaguars 53-man roster projection before the last portion of OTAs: Special Teams (3 players)
Long snapper Ross Matiscik, kicker Cam Little, punter Logan Cooke
All three are pretty much locks to make the team, but you already knew that.
