The Jacksonville Jaguars are reshuffling their roster after the recent Bhayshul Tuten update. Just one day after the rookie running back underwent finger surgery, the team made a couple of moves to add depth at running back and linebacker.

The Jags announced that they've placed first-year linebacker Jack Kiser on Injury Reserve, putting an end to his rookie campaign. On top of that, they've signed running back DeeJay Dallas and opened linebacker Jalen McLeod's 21-day practice window.

Moving Jack Kiser to IR allows the Jaguars to replace Bhayshul Tuten with DeeJay Dallas

Jack Kiser suffered a hamstring injury in the win over the New York Jets. A fourth-round pick in this year's draft, the former Notre Dame Irish barely got playing time this season because Jacksonville is stacked at linebacker. On the other hand, DeeJay Dallas gives the team depth at running back during Bhayshul Tuten's absence.

A fourth-round pick in the 2020 draft, Dallas spent his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He then played for the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers before landing with the Jags.

The former Miami Hurricane began the 2025 season in the Carolina practice squad, but the Panthers signed him to the active roster when they were struck by the injury bug at running back. They eventually released Dallas and signed him back to the practice squad. In 81 career games, he's toted the rock 122 times for 517 yards with four touchdowns.

Keep in mind that Tuten will only miss a few weeks and should return in time for the playoffs. Moreover, Travis Etienne and LeQuint Allen will carry the lion's share of the workload, so Dallas may not get much playing time. Then again, the team needed depth at the position, as their only other in-house option was undrafted rookie Ja'Quinden Jackson, who's currently in the practice squad.

The Jaguars may make other moves to pave the way to Jalen McLeod

When the Jaguars placed Jack Kiser on injured Reserve, they made room for DeeJay Dallas. This is noteworthy because they will need to free up another roster spot for Jalen McLeon. He began his rookie season on IR, and if the team's brass opened his practice window, it's because it believes he's healthy enough to play.

A tweener at Auburn, McLeod rushed the quarterback from a standup position. Maybe the team's brass wants to give him a look in case veteran Dennis Gardeck, who excels at bringing the heat, leaves in free agency.

All things considered, it's good to see the Jaguars make tweaks to the roster and look for ways to finish the season strong. Signing DeeJay Dallas or activating Jalen McLeon from Injured Reserve won't suddenly turn them into a Super Bowl contender. However, it will give them depth at a couple of key positions.
