As the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to put together what looks to be a magical season, it appears they'll have to work through yet another setback to secure their weekly taste of success. After last Sunday's physical game against the Tennessee Titans, multiple players landed on Jacksonville's injury report. Parker Washington (hip), the team's standout punt returner and rising wide receiver, was one of them.
Throughout the week, Washington's chances to play through his hip injury grew more optimistic. Information from the franchise showed that Parker didn't practice at all on Wednesday but was a limited participant on Thursday and Friday. This led to the team designating him as questionable going into the weekend.
Parker's emergence as a valuable weapon for the Jags would make his absence today a huge problem. As a punt returner, the versatile contributor has 19 returns for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns. Out wide, he's snagged 36 receptions for 447 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 23 first downs (all career highs).
Fans and members of the media have been waiting for any kind of update confirming whether or not Washington would be available when the Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts for first place in the AFC South. Late last night, one of the NFL's most credible insiders gave us the information we were looking for.
A top national source claims Parker Washington won't suit up today

Long after the craziness in college football ended, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted a report revealing that Washington will not be available for today's contest against Indianapolis. Unfortunately, this means Jacksonville takes a hit in both the kicking and passing games.
On Friday, head coach Liam Coen met with the local media and said that he would like to have Washington back. However, the former Buccaneer added that he was confident in the other receivers' ability to play well if the former Nittany Lion wasn't cleared to compete.
"Yeah, if he doesn't, if Parker's unable, then it'll be a mix of Dyam, Tim Patrick and also Austin Trammell for right now, I would say," Coen told reporters (12:00 mark). "so it's a matter of those guys being able to fill and then also be able to play Z and X at some of those other positions as well, with Dyami and Tim being able to do some of those things as well."
Coen continued, "So all those guys have made big plays for us at some point this season. [I'd] love to have Parker out there and obviously for special teams and for offense, but really trust that, that we'll be able to go out and get the job done regardless."
It's a good thing Coen was ready for the possibility that Washington wouldn't be cleared. For what it's worth, reports throughout the week revealed that Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner wouldn't be playing on Sunday either. Major injuries are never something to celebrate, but the health of both rosters going into Week 14 shows that each side will be playing under similar, if not equal, circumstances at 1 o'clock.
