Just before their Week 4 matchup, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh stirred the pot when he said that the Jacskonville Jaguars legally steal signals from opposing teams. His comments were odd when you take into account that this is common practice league-wide.

Head coach Liam Coen, for one, wasn't thrilled about the accusation, and he'll surely have the Jags ready to roll. That said, that's not the storyline worth keeping an eye on for the game. One other one is the status of wide receiver Dyami Brown.

Will Dyami Brown suit up for the Jaguars vs. the 49ers?

Dyami Brown got off to a hot start to the 2025 season, hauling in five receptions for 109 yards with one touchdown the first two games. However, he suffered a shoulder injury in Week 3 that forced him to leave the eventual 17-10 win over the Houston Texans. Before he left, though, the Charlotte, Carolina native had two catches on three targets for seven yards.

The club kept things close to the vest and didn't divulge many details about Brown's injury. He didn't practice Wednesday but was a limited participant both Thursday and Friday. He ultimately got a questionable designation for the game, meaning that Jacksonville hasn't yet ruled out the possibility of the former North Carolina Tar Heel playing against the 49ers.

One day before the doubt, the Jags announced that they had downgraded linebacker Yasir Abdulla from questionable to out. This is noteworthy because Brown's designation for Week 4 hasn't changed, so he still has a chance to play. The fact that the fifth-year veteran flew with the team, as Mia O'Brien of ESPN Radio noted, bodes well for his availability.

What will the Jaguars do if Dyami Brown isn't good to go?

The Jaguars would love to have Dyami Brown for the 49ers game, but they may not want to rush him back if he hasn't recovered enough. If he isn't good to go, Parker Washington and Tim Patrick will see their roles expanded against San Francisco.

Already, the duo of Washington and Patrick found themselves picking up the slack when Brown left the Texans game. And with a week of practice, they could turn out to be the team's X-Factor.

Ultimately, we'll most likely find out whether Dyami Brown suits up when the Jaguars announce their inactives. But if he doesn't suit up, they have a contingency plan in place.
