Linebacker Foyesade Oluokun is currently unable to suit up for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before Week 4, he landed on the Injured Reserve while he deals with plantar fasciitis. But just because he cannot play, it doesn't mean he's stopped trying to help his team. And during the Week 5 win over the Indianapolis Colts, he supported the Jags the best way he could.

During the game, Twitter user @bonnieupright posted a clip of Oloukun rooting for the team. She followed the video up with a message saying that it was "fun to listen to him and hear how much he supports his teammates."

A fifth-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2018, Oluokun signed with the Jags in 2022. He went on to become a staple of the defense and one of their most respected locker room leaders.

During the 2023 offseason, head coach Doug Pederson dismissed most veterans from mandatory workouts but Oluokun stayed in the building to provide guidance to his teammates.

Since joining the Jags, Oluokun has started 37 games and registered 379 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and 13 passes defensed.

Ventrell Miller is helping the Jaguars while Foyesade Oluokun recovers

You could argue that Foyesade Oluokun didn't tip the scale in the Jaguars' favor by simply rooting for them. But the truth is that he could've stayed home or at the facility and simply said that he couldn't go because he's still recovering.

However, Oluokun did what he could while he recovers and that was cheering for them. It's also worth noting that he's been named team captain by his teammates three straight seasons, so it's fair to say that his voice carries lots of weight even outside the field.

Of course, Oluokun would rather be with his teammates and play, but he must work on his recovery. Once he's back at full strength, he'll be able to help them right the ship. For the time being, sophomore Ventrell Miller has filled in for him.

The former Florida Gator has held his own in two starts during Oluokun's absence. With Miller holding the fort, the coaching staff doesn't have to rush the veteran linebacker's rehab, and can easily afford to wait for him.

The bottom line is that Foyesade Oluokun has been an important contributor for the Jags on and off the field. And just because he cannot put a helmet on, he'll stop supporting his team.
