NFL fans made their picks for the Pro Bowl recently, and it's safe to say that the Jacksonville Jaguars were totally and completely snubbed. Only one player — long-snapper Ross Matiscik — got a nod, while multiple other deserving players were robbed.
There are plenty of players who should have received a nomination, but the most notable is Cam Little. It isn't just that the second-year kicker is reliable or makes impressive field goals; he literally broke NFL records this season.
Little first got league-wide attention in the preseason, when he kicked a 70-yard field goal. That one didn't count, but it didn't take long before he kicked a 68-yarder, making history for the longest field goal ever kicked. Yet somehow, he didn't get a Pro Bowl nomination.
The Pro Bowl snub of Jaguars' Cam Little makes even less sense after the Chargers’ mess
The AFC roster for the Pro Bowl was released this week, and the Los Angeles Chargers' Cameron Dicker got the nod instead of Little. It is true that Little had some early-season struggles, but it didn't take long for him to correct course and get back on track.
Oh, and did we mention he made NFL history? Yeah, Cam Little made NFL history.

But even if you leave his record-setting kick, Little has been pretty good after his early-season slump, going 15-of-15 in field goals and 4-on-4 in attempts from 40 yards out. Simply put, he's put together Pro Bowl-caliber numbers.
It was already crazy enough that Little wouldn't get recognition for how well he's done this season, but Dicker being chosen instead looks even worse considering how he's performed since getting nominated. This is a pick that already is not aging well.
The Chargers lost in brutal fashion to none other than the Houston Texans, one of Jacksonville's divisional foes, and it was in no small part due to an absolute meltdown from Dicker. He cost Los Angeles four points after missing both a field goal and an extra point. The Chargers lost by four points, too, making it even more egregious.
Of course, the Jags are used to being underestimated, overlooked, and disrespected. It's become a major source of motivation for them this season. Still, it's mind-boggling to know that a record-breaking kicker would be ignored in favor of a kicker that chokes when his team needed him the most.
