The Jacksonville Jaguars placed second-year defensive end B.J. Green II on the Injured Reserve list ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Green originally suffered an elbow injury in the win over the Cleveland Browns in the season opener. He left the game and didn't return.

Now, Green will have to wait at least four weeks to pick up where he left off. There's no doubt that the Jags will miss him, but the silver lining is that the Jags don't have other players dealing with serious injuries before the Broncos game.

Brian Thomas Jr. appeared on the Jaguars' injury report vs. the Broncos

The Jaguars dropped their first injury report for Week 2. Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder), running back LeQuint Allen Jr. (hip), offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen (knee), and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers earned the limited designation.

Thomas hurt his shoulder in the Browns game but returned to the game. Barring a setback, he should be available in Week 2. On the other hand, Allen, Van Lanen, and Meyers appeared on the injury report for the season opener but still suited up, so all three should be good to go.

In fact, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reported that all Jaguars players suited up for practice Wednesday, even Thomas. On the other hand, offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen was on a snap count in the season opener but said that his knee feels great and expects an uptick in playing time in Week 2.

For context, Van Lanen suffered a knee injury in January and missed the offseason program during his recovery. He returned for limited work in training camp, and Week 1 was the first time he saw action.

Meyers, for his part, suffered a thumb injury in training camp but caught two passes for 40 yards with a touchdown in Week 2.

The Jaguars will have virtually all hands on deck against the Broncos

The Broncos are coming off a 31-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but they're simply too good to be overlooked. It's also worth noting that they've shown a penchant for starting slow and catching fire as the season progresses under head coach Sean Payton, so the Jaguars can't just rest on their laurels when they travel to Mile High to face Denver. Then again, Liam Coen won't let them.

Expect a highly motivated Jacksonville team to show up in Week 2. Coen just said ahead of the game that Payton is coming for the Jaguars. Whether he realized it or not, he gave them fresh bulletin board material. But leaving aside that they have all the motivation they need to come out on top, they're stacked with talent on both sides of the ball.

Simply put, the Jaguars have a favorable chance to come out of Empower Field with their second win of the season. The fact that they're going to be mostly healthy should only increase their odds.
