The Jacksonville Jaguars aren't planning to make further signings in free agency after a busy start to the legal tampering period. As general manager James Gladstone explained, bringing in veterans could potentially hamper the development of their incoming rookie class. That said, there are a handful of players out there that could help the Jags.

Most of the big-name free agents already found a home, but there are still a couple of players that would provide depth and competition in Jacksonville. With that in mind, here's a ranking of the best-remaining targets in the open market.

Will Hernandez, interior offensive line

The Jaguars signed Robert Hainsay and Patrick Mekari to start at center and right guard, respectively. Moreover, they signed Chuma Edoga to add depth. Following the additions, the offensive line looks in much better shape. That said, there's still room for further reinforcements.

Left guard Ezra Cleveland has left much to be desired in terms of performance and availability since signing a long-term deal last offseason. As the saying goes, iron sharpens iron, so the Jags could bring in Will Hernandez to compete with him.

Hernandez has been a dependable guard throughout his career, appearing in 97 games with 91 starts for the New York Giants and the Arizona Cardinals. However, he suffered a knee injury last year that sidelined him for most of the season.

Given that he's coming off a serious injury, Hernandez might need to sign a one-year, prove-it deal to show that he's still the same player he was prior to getting hurt. In Jacksonville, he would get the opportunity to compete while adding depth on the interior offensive line.

Shaquill Griffin, cornerback

The Jaguars already signed a pretty good cornerback in Jourdan Lewis. Although he's mostly lined up in the slot, he's shown the capability to play well in the boundaries. However, the Jags still need depth at the position.

To nobody's surprise, Jacksonville released Ronald Darby in the offseason, which leaves Montaric Brown as the top reserve. With Kristian Fulton joining the Kansas City Chiefs, and Jaire Alexander apparently staying with the Green Bay Packers, the team's brass should consider bringing a familiar face.

Shaquill Griffin signed with the Jags in 2021 and played well. However, a back injury hindered him in 2022. He was released the following offseason and quickly latched onto the Houston Texans. The former UCF Knight later signed with the Minnesota Vikings and went on to have a bounce-back season.

While Griffin is far from a Pro Bowl-caliber player at this stage of his career, he could start a handful of games if needed.

Elijah Moore, wide receiver

Coming out of college, Elijah Moore was a promising wide receiver. However, he hasn't been particularly great throughout his NFL career. In his defense, he's caught passes from Zach Willson, Deshaun Watson, Mike White, and P.J. Walker. You will be hard-pressed to find someone who'll thrive with that underwhelming group of quarterbacks.

Surprisingly, the Browns let Moore walk after trading for him in 2023. His 200 catches for 2,162 yards with nine touchdowns won't pop off the stat sheet, but he could most definitely help the Jags. Sure, they already signed Dyami Brown but they still need depth at the position after releasing Christian Kirk and Josh Reynolds and letting Tim Jones walk.

Calais Campbell, defensive lineman

Calais Campbell is one of the best free-agent signings in team history. Right off the bat, he embodied the Jaguars off and on the field but was surprisingly traded before the 2020 season. What's not shocking is that The Mayor has remained highly productive since then.

There was chatter about bringing back Campbell in 2023, but he ended up signing with the Atlanta Falcons. He then spent a season with the Miami Dolphins and is currently unsigned. Why not give him a call and arrange that anticipated reunion? In Jacksonville, the former All-Pro nod would be part of a rotation that includes Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker.
