The Jacksonville Jaguars have put an emphasis on competition since head coach Liam Coen became the head coach. Not surprisingly, several players took advantage of the chances they got at Organized Team Activities. On the other hand, a few others failed to make an impression.
Granted, jobs aren't won (or lost) at OTAs, but a handful of players who are either trying to move up the depth chart or competing for a roster spot will have to make up ground in training camp.
With this in mind, here are five Jaguars clinging to relevance before training camp turns up the heat.
DeeJay Dallas, Jaguars running back
By all accounts, DeeJay Dallas was solid in the offseason program. On the other hand, he didn't do much of note, and that isn't good when you take into account that undrafted rookie J'Mari Taylor has made a strong impression.
Dallas could bounce back once the pads go on in training camp, but he could be on his way out if Taylor picks up where he left off at OTAs.
Hunter Long, Jaguars tight end
Tight end didn't appear to be a strength for the Jaguars earlier in the offseason, but it's trending that way following Tanner Koziol's impressive showing at OTAs. Sure, Nate Boerkircher was held out but won't suddenly tumble down the depth chart. He's still expected to be the No. 2 behind Brenton Strange. That's not great news for either Hunter Long or Quinton Morris.
Although Morris didn't showcase much as a pass-catcher at OTAs, Long didn't do anything to stand out either. That won't help him stick around next season if Jacksonville chooses to carry just three tight ends.
Even if the Jags keep four, Morris may get the nod over Longer because they're high on him despite his shortcomings.
Chuma Edoga, Jaguars offensive line
Sometimes players fly under the radar, but that doesn't mean they're not putting in the work. That may very well be the situation Chuma Edoga finds himself in ahead of training camp. However, the veteran hog molly will need to, at some point, turn heads with his head.
Last year, Edoga shone in training camp but struggled with penalties once the regular season began. He'll have a chance to make an impression once again. The issue is that rookie Emmanuel Pregnon and sophomore Wyatt Milum are lurking behind.
Tim Jones, Jaguars wide receiver
After going undrafted one year prior, Tim Jones made the Jacksonville 53-man roster in 2022. He went on to make the team each of the following two years. However, the Jags let the former Southern Miss Golden Eagle walk in 2025.
After a brief stint with the Minnesota Vikings, Jones returned to Duval and finished the 2025 season with the Jags. He signed a future contract to return but is currently on the outside looking in due to the emergence of rookies Josh Cameron and CJ Williams. Both of them have bigger upside than the veteran wideout, so he could get the boot come roster cutdown day for the second year in a row.
Trevian Thomas, Jaguars safety
Even though the Jaguars lost Andrew Wingard in free agency, they still have a well-rounded safety room, with Antonio Johnson, Rayuan Lane, Eric Murray, Caleb Ransaw, and rookie Jalen Huskey. Barring anything unexpected, all five should make the roster. That's not great news for sophomore Trevian Thomas.
An undrafted rookie in 2025, Thomas signed with the Jags late in the season after spending time with the Carolina Panthers. He signed a future contract early in 2026, but his best bet at this point is to earn a spot on the practice squad.
