The Jacksonville Jaguars are off to a promising start to training camp. While both the offense and the defense have been rough at times, that's expected at this point of the year when teams are shaking off the rust of the offseason.
Already, several players have made a strong impression, and a few of them continue to turn heads on Day 3 of camp. If they keep making strides, Jacksonville will be in great shape to take on the Cleveland Browns in the season opener.
With this in mind, here are four players who showed out on Day 3 of camp
Josh Cameron, Jaguars receiver
Receivers CJ Williams and Parker Washington had their moments in training camp. Both of them had moments on Day 3, but they also had to share the spotlight with CJ Williams on Day 3.
Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL says that Williams benefited from two pass-interference calls and almost had a one-hand, highlight catch but stepped out of bounds. Nevertheless, he got praise from Liam Coen for his toughness.
Like Williams, Cameron should carve out a niche as a rookie.
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars quarterback
It's kind of odd that Trevor Lawrence hasn't been brought up often in training camp until Day 3. On the other hand, you haven't often heard that he's struggled, so that's a positive sign.
Circling back to Lawrence's performance on Day 3, John Shipley of Sports Illustrated reports that No. 16 was accurate and distributed the football at ease, completing passes to Brian Thomas Jr. and Parker Washington, among others.
Granted, it's just one practice, but Lawrence is already beginning to build that consistency in training camp that has evaded him in past years.
Jarrian Jones, Jaguars cornerback
The Jaguars have Jourdan Lewis back. That's great news for the secondary. Even better, Jarrian Jones could give the team an intriguing problem. See, Lewis was Jacksonville's best cornerback last year, but Jones also finished the year strong.
Already, Jones is turning heads in training camp, registering two interceptions on Day 3, including a diving one that was intended for Parker Washington. The former Florida Seminole was a ball-hawk the past two years, and he's laying out the groundwork to have a banner season in 2026.
J'Mari Taylor, Jaguars running back
Bhayshul Tuten has been a stud in training camp, and Day 3 was no exception, breaking off a long touchdown run. However, running back J'Mari Taylor showed once again that he can also make big plays.
While Taylor didn't score, Ryan O'Halloran of 1010 XL reported that the former Virginia Cavalier took off on a screen pass. Dating back to the offseason program, Taylor has been the only running back who has gone toe-to-toe with Tuten on explosive plays.
Taylor still has his work cut out for him, but he's making a legitimate case to earn a roster spot.
