The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking to achieve a very special milestone when they play the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. The Jags are 0-4 against them since they drafted Trevor Lawrence in 2021, so they'll have a great opportunity to buck the trend. Of course, it won't be a walk in the park.
Leaving aside Lawrence's losing record against the Bengals, Jacksonville is 0-24 in team history when the over/under before the game is 49 points or more, according to QBgami on Twitter. Sunday's matchup is set at 51.5 points.
Having said that, Lawrence is playing so well that he's been pulled from a game in the fourth quarter twice this season. Moreover, the Jacksonville defense is the best in the league following the dismantling of the Patriots. And if that wasn't enough, the Bengals could be shorthanded in Week 4. With this in mind, here are three reasons the Jags will beat Cincinnati.
3 reasons the Jaguars will beat the Bengals in Week 4
Bhayshul Tuten is catching fire at the perfect time for the Jaguars
Don't confuse Bhayshul Tuten's dearth of 100-yard games with a lack of impact. The former Virginia Tech Hokie has yet to get 20 carries or more in a contest this season but has still managed to rack up 204 yards with two touchdowns on 43 totes.
Liam Coen recently heaped praise on Tuten, noting that he's been productive despite the fact that he's been unable to break off a 40, 50, or 60-yard run this season. Maybe he will against the Bengals.
Jaylen Warren amassed 48 yards on six outside runs against Cincy in Week 3. Tuten is averaging 5.9 yards per carry in that kind of runs, so he could have a big day against the Bengals. Heck, he may force them to bring in extra defenders into the box. That would leave Trevor Lawrence and his arsenal of weapons with favorable matchups.

Tuten’s 4.28 yards after contact per rush trails only Kenneth Walker
Simply put, the Jags shouldn't hesitate to lean on Tuten.
The Bengals secondary is banged up
The Jacksonville wide receiver corps is arguably one of the best in the NFL even though Brian Thomas Jr. has been unable to cut down on the drops. Parker Washington has cemented himself as the No. 1 option in the passing game, while Jakobi Meyers reminded everyone just how dependable he is in Week 4, reeling in seven receptions on eight targets for 64 yards.
On top of that, rookie Josh Cameron has quickly established himself as a trusted target for Trevor Lawrence, scoring two touchdowns in three games.
Washington, Meyers, Cameron, and even Thomas could have a strong showing against the Bengals because they're dealing with injuries in the secondary. Safety Kyle Dugger is dealing with a quad injury and has already been ruled out for the game.
On top of that, Cincinnati had to move cornerback Dax Hill from the perimeter to the slot because the team's primary options at nickel, Jalen Davis and Ja'Sir Taylor, are unavailable.
When you add it all up, this is a matchup the Jaguars must exploit in Week 4.
Trevor Lawrence is playing at a top-10 level for the Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence got off to a slow start in his first season under Liam Coen. But once he became acquainted with the scheme, he played like a top-10 quarterback to finish the 2025 campaign.
No. 16 has picked up where he left off, and you could even make the case that he's even better, as he's attempting throws no other quarterback would dare.
Although Lawrence had somewhat of an off day against the Broncos in Week 2, he's generally played well this season. Given that he's going to have his full arsenal of weapons against a decimated Bengals defense, a pretty good day should be expected.
