3 Jaguars whose stock has taken a massive hit after minicamp

The Jacksonville Jaguars are headed to the last portion of Organized Team Activities after holding mandatory minicamp. Head coach Liam Coen told the media that the Jags organized their offseason program that way because they wanted to ramp up the intensity and competition. While several players took advantage of the settings, others left much to be desired.

Granted, jobs aren't lost or won in mandatory camp, but a handful of players find themselves trailing ahead of the next stage of the offseason. With this in mind, here are three players whose stock is currently tumbling.

Quintin Morris, Jaguars tight end

Quintin Morris landed with the Jaguars in the aftermath of the 2025 draft. Although he didn't make the initial 53-man roster, he was eventually signed. By the end of the season, the Bowling Green product had outplayed fellow tight ends Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt. Not surprisingly, the Jags gave him a new one-year deal early in 2026.

However, Morris suddenly found himself in a tough spot because Jacksonville used a pair of draft picks on Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol. While the rookie tights end have shined, Morris hasn't done anything of note in the offseason program. Specifically, he hasn't stood out as a pass-catcher.

Maybe if Boerkircher and Koziol weren't around, Morris would have a better chance of sticking around because he's a heck of a blocker. However, that may not be enough to cut it next season.

Christian Braswell, Jaguars cornerback

Early in the offseason, it seemed like cornerback was going to be a need for the Jags. However, they actually have a nice blend of talent at depth at the position. With Travis Hunter, Jourdan Lewis, Montaric Brown, and Jarrian Jones at the top of the depth chart, one or two spots could be up for competition.

Jabbar Muhammad is making a strong bid for one of them, and perhaps undrafted rookie Preston Hodge may seize the other one. This is why it was imperative for Christian Braswell to make an impression in mandatory minicamp. All things considered, he fared well, but didn't necessarily stand out. Then again, context is needed.

Whereas Muhammad and Hodge went against the second and third teams, Muhammad had to cover the likes of Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. It's hard to tell if Hodge and Muhammad would play as well if they had practiced with the starters, so maybe he'll make up some ground in training camp.

Ameer Abdullah, Jaguars running back

While contact is prohibited during mandatory minicamp, you want to see players thrive on position and seven-on-seven drills. Undrafted rookie J'Mari Taylor most definitely did. However, the same cannot be said about veteran Ammer Abdullah, who signed with the Jags after the draft and could turn out to be not much more than a camp body.

Make no mistake, Abdullah is a fine pass-catcher out of the backfield who can also contribute on special teams. That said, it may not make much sense to hold onto him when you can give his roster spot to Taylor, who has more upside at this stage of his career.
