The Jacksonville Jaguars ended last year with a heartbreaking loss to the Buffalo Bills, but with such a massive turnaround from 2024, most fans are still looking forward to next season. The future looks bright, especially considering that the Jags will be able to run it back with Grant Udinski and Anthony Campanile.

But no offseason ever happens without changes, and there are definitely issues the team's brass will need to address. For instance, the Jags have a great run defense, but need some help with pass rush. Travis Etienne is a fantastic running back, but he may be on his way out the door... so on and so forth

In short, there will be some changes coming to Jacksonville this offseason. Hopefully, it will set the Jags up for even more success, and potentially even the first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history, but only if James Gladstone & Co. play their cards right.

Nothing should be off the table for the Jaguars this offseason

There are free agents the Jags will need to decide on keeping or letting go, as well as choose who to trade and how to handle the draft. While the basics will remain in play — Trevor Lawrence isn't going anywhere, for example — Jacksonville fans will see some big shake-ups this offseason.

With this in mind, here are a few bold predictions for what might happen.

The Jaguars manage to bring back Travis Etienne (with a caveat)

The star running back is set to be a free agent, and he's already got major buzz surrounding him. There are plenty of teams interested, and with the Jaguars having drafted two running backs in 2025 (Bhayshul Tuten and Lequint Allen), some think the office is preparing to let him go.

We think Etienne will be around for another year. He may not cost the Jags too much, and while Tuten in particular shows promise, perhaps he's not ready to take over at RB1. Jacksonville might already be looking to the future at running back, but the future isn't here yet, and Etienne is still performing at a high level.

Jaguars don't find a trade partner and outright cut Walker Little

The NFL just announced that the salary cap will go up. However, that won't be enough to help the Jags get out of the red, so they're still going to be some cap casualties this offseason. While there are plenty of candidates, Little stands out. He costs a lot of money, and he hasn't been all that productive.

There are other players who could save the Jags even more money, like Arik Armstead, but the difference is that while Little struggled, Armstead had a rebound season after being injured in 2024. Jacksonville also extended Cole Van Lanen to a three-year deal, indicating that it's only a matter of time before the Jaguars let little go.

The issue is that teams won't be willing to take on his contract, so Jacksonville will have no choice but to cut Little.

Jacksonville poaches Alec Pierce from the Colts

Indianapolis wide receiver Alec Pierce is set to be one of the most in-demand free agents this offseason, and with Brian Thomas Jr. being mediocre at best, the Jaguars could use some more star power at the position.

Pierce is known for being a deep threat and making explosive plays, and with Liam Coen getting the best out of Trevor Lawrence last season, adding Pierce as another weapon in the arsenal would be a huge asset for the Jags in 2026.
